QUOTE: “If somebody took mabaati (iron sheets) meant for the Karachuna (Karimojong warriors) and gave them to people or institutions in his or her constituency, this is political corruption. It is like bribing voters so as to get political favours. In the case of the mabaati, it is at the expense of the Karachuna, but also at the expense of the security of the country. Those involved must both bring back the mabaati or equivalent value in money but also be handled by the police under the criminal laws of the country. I will also take political action once the police has concluded their investigations”- President Museveni wrote in a letter dated March 17, 2023.

Update: "We won't beg Museveni for our freedom. It's okay if you want to kill us for trying to fight for our country. You arrested us for trying to protect Robert Kyagulanyi's votes [during presidential elections] now you expect us to beg you for our freedom! We won't relent" one of the political prisoners shouts from a military van taking them back to prison where they have been on remand for over three years.
This was after the General Court Martial at Makindye, Kampala again denied them bail on grounds that the offence of treachery which they are facing is serious in nature

Jinja hospital staff have this morning abandoned patients and are battling with police following reports that a section of Muslims in the city had grabbed the hospital land. They have accused the local government leadership in Jinja City of keeping silent. Police fired tear gas that angered the health workers who said they will not work until RCC, among others, come out to handle the matter.

National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine takes a boda boda ride after planting a banana stem in Katwe, Rubaga Division, Kampala in protest of the sorry state of the roads across the country.
This was after Mr Kyagulanyi escaped from his home in Magere, Wakiso District where he had been put under house arrest to block him from taking part in the protest.
