NIGHT LOCKDOWN DILEMMA
Greetings Jeje Eminat, am Alex. I have been with my fiancé for five years now, we have no biological child together but have children from our previous relationships (I have 2 and she has 1). Mine stay with their grandmothers, while hers stays with us. I have taken over the Father-figure role in her life like any responsible man would do and at her school and in the neighborhood they think I am her biological father (she tells them that despite her knowing who her biological father is).

My fiancé with whom we started formalizing things by having a pre-visit, isn’t okay with my children coming to our residence. I see it on her face, moods and actions when that topic comes up.

At first she said she didn't want interruptions from the mother(s) of my kids (this she just anticipated coz I have never invited the kids home during this whole time).

One day when one of my kids was quite sick and had treatment late at night and me being a medic, since the grandma's place was far from town, I suggested I bring the child home and administer treatment from there then take the child back the following day after treatment. This didn't go well with her, to the extent that she had to first confirm that I had not gone back home with my child by checking from the balcony before opening for me when I returned.

Her baby daddy is a wealthy politician but never comes through for the daughter's school fees or any kind of upkeep. We go through all kinds of huddles and make sure we pay her school fees and other needs since we are both working. I have gone as far as getting soft loans to make sure her child is in school, etc.

I have limited communication with my baby mamas to the extent that the only communication I expect is when the children are sick or there is something that is serious. I have their teachers’ numbers who I communicate to in case I need to. I pay their school fees through school-pay to avoid constant reminders which would be an inconvenience

Attorney General, Hon. disagrees with Hon. Ebwalu, saying some payments were made and a report to that effect was submitted to Parliament.

It’s not correct that we are not doing anything [on cattle compensation], in fact, we were required to submit a report on all payments made in cattle compensation and I am absolutely certain because I presented them to Parliament myself.

Hon. Ebwalu: I would like the Attorney General to bring a schedule of payments for people of Teso who lost their property and also bring a progress report of payment for not only Teso but also Lango and Acholi sub-regions.

The spokesperson of the Uganda People's Defense Forces, Brigadier Felix Kulayigye, says the former commander of the Air Force, Brigadier Stephen Kiggundu, who died on Sunday, was electrocuted in a bathroom. Kulayigye indicates that Kiggundu, an experienced pilot, was one of the first to fly the Russian-made Sukhoi fighter jets in Uganda. His body has been taken to the mortuary to determine the cause of death.
