Table below indicates that, although female candidates are fewer in number than the male candidates, proportionally, they performed better than their male Counterparts did. The percentage passes at the upper levels (3P and 2P) are higher, while percentage passes at the lower levels and failure rate among female
candidates are lower than for the males. This has been the observed trend in the last three years.

"Nabbanja directs women’s council to fight illegal school charges"
Prime Minster Robinah Nabbanja has directed representatives of the National Women's Council (NWC) to fight against illegal fees charged in public schools. Nabbanja said illegal charges imposed on learners are a major contributor to the chromic school dropouts that the country is currently grappling with.
She also revealed that the rationalizing of government agencies will not affect women councils in Uganda.

Sad! A man identified as Sulaiman Kasozi (40) was arrested by Police for hacking 3 of his children, killing one on spot and 2 seriously injured!
It's alleged that Kasozi, a builder and resident of Kikuuta village in Mityana District, borrowed money from a money lender and used his house as collateral security! When he failed to settle the debt, he was given only one week to vacate the house with his family but after failing to get where to take the family, he decided to kill them and then kill himself!
The incident happened at around 2am, when he woke up and hacked his children using a panga!
The victims are; Edrisa Bukenya (11) who died on spot, Sulaiman Kasozi (9) and Amudani Muwenge (7).
His 7-months pregnant wife, Dina Ariba (32) was woken up by the loud cry of one of the children and made an alarm which alerted the residents!

The CAF Inspection team will visit venues in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania proposed to host the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.
The inspection team will start with Uganda on 6th and 7th March 2024 followed by Kenya, Zanzibar and Tanzania.
The inspection report will guide CAF on the final decision that will lead to the award of CHAN 2024 hosting rights.

The December 2023 Auditor General’s report, queried the Shs15Bn Goat Roll-Out project implemented in 7 districts, where the Ministry of Agriculture procured 2,902 local indigenous goats worth Shs1.156Bn and imported 71 goats at a cost of Shs528M.
Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) based on this report and tasked the Ministry to explain how Shs7.3Mn was spent on the purchase of each goat, yet the majority of the goats bought died within the first week after distribution, with auditors blaming the supplier of intentionally supplying sick & emaciated goats to Gov’t.
According to the Auditor General, John Muwanga, all the 150 goats distributed in Nakasongola district worth Shs52.5M had died, whereas in Gomba district, out of the 700 goats distributed worth Shs245Mn, 259 goats valued at Shs90.7M had died, thus indicating that a total of 409 goats out of 850 distributed in Gomba and Nakasongola worth Shs143Mn had died by the time of audit in September 2023.
Steven Kajura, Project Coordinator at the Ministry of Agriculture defended the cost spent on each goat saying the goats were bought from South Africa and were of a higher pedigree explaining, “The goats were got from South Africa & Namibia, we bought high pedigree animals and that cost includes cost insurance and flight so it came to Shs7.3Mn.

This man is using his bare hands to rescue trapped gold miners.
