The entertainer was arguably the star of the 2021 reality show 876 Roommates, attracting investors for the development of his own show which was slated to premiere in August 2022 through subscription-based streaming service Firstinline Plus. Five months before that was supposed to happen, Lexi D Bess, 20, died in a road crash in Trelawny.
“When mi did promise unno it (the show), Lexi drop out dah year deh enuh bro,” he said in a recent YouTube upload. “Mi a tell you dah year deh did rough because, for me, that was a hard pill to swallow… Dah year deh did just depressing for me to know mi a go through the year, even without Lexi, certain way.”

A popular YouTube vlogger and online comedienne, Lexi D Bess was the winner of the 876 Roommates series and befriended the reclusive Juma who ultimately left the production following an altercation with Wal Dag
Described by show producers as “Jamaica’s Dave Chappelle”, Juma’s production will bear similar elements as Chappelle’s eponymous show which featured comedy skits and a range of talent. Though he was displaced by Lexi D Bess’ passing, Juma said he still wanted to give his fans content, which saw the premature release of skits that were made for the show.
“So, mi kinda just f-up the whole plan and how mi did a pree fi structure the episode dem di realest way because mi did a try serve unno at the same time,” he said. “But, overall, that year was rough, especially fi know seh Lexi gone bro. That did hurt me.”

Beyond this, he cited two new roles as a director and editor for two projects which took him away from his baby, but declared his intention to get back on track.

“As you can see, January mi a put out content and mi nuh want unno feel like it’s a case where mi forget the show. That’s always on top of my mind because mi promise unno that.
