The firm has access to a much larger network of companies, organisations and independent consultants for specific advisory needs in addition to a strong international network of collaborators and associates. This is made possible because of the firm’s earlier working relationships with them and because of adopting a collaborative approach to solving policy problems, working in partnerships, even with client organisations, to improve knowledge and competence in managing development and change. Besides, the firm believes in institutional learning, emphasises teamwork and shares expertise and knowledge in pursuit of excellence.
Promote Uganda Limited has a unique competence above any other consulting firm because it is manned by economists who fully understand the budget process having worked with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development for many years. This is combined with a clear understanding of the concept of evidence based accountability that they use to produce sector based videos and documentaries that are used by Uganda’s embassies to market the country. Promote Uganda Limited was set up to address gaps that were identified in the public information dissemination and communication system. The system is intended to serve as an efficient alternative vehicle for sending information down to the people.
The firm has wide experience in tracking of government funds and previously provided services to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development; National Planning Authority andMinistry of Education. The last assignment of funds tracking was done in 2008 on Poverty Action Funds and its impact on the community for the ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development. The firm carried out a study on strengthening the sector wide approach (SWAP) for the transport sector for the Ministry of Works and Transport which is currently being implemented, also did a study on Funding proposal for Epicenter Strategy for The Hunger Project Uganda to be implemented next financial year under the Ministry of Local Government. The firm has been presenting similar Budget Speech video Presentations on enhancing accountability every financial year since FY2009/10 to present with the exception of last financial year.
