Statement on Buloba Fatal accident.
The Traffic police at Buloba Police station, has today evening 01/04/2023 at around 20:00/c registered a fatal accident at Buloba Forest Park which has claimed lives of five people.
Preliminary findings indicate that motor vehicle registration number UAX628S Scania loaded with parked water from Kampala side heading to Mityana, had a tyre Burst and lost control and rammed into five motorvehicles; UBE613E Toyota Hiace , UAR 175W Isuzu Elf, UAX783F Mitsubishi Pajero and UFL 384D Bajaj Boxer, killing five people on spot.
Among the dead, two were passengers from motor vehicle reg no UAV 515J, other two from UBE 613E Toyota Hiace and the fifth was the Bodaboda rider.
Unidentified number of victims have been rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical help.
Inquiries into the matter are underway and more details will be availed in due course.

What police says on Ntungamo accident that involved two buses .
The territorial traffic police of Rwizi at Ntungamo Police station, have today 29th.March.2023, at about 0300/c registered a serious accident at Katinda bridge along the Ntungamo - Kabale road.
The accident involved motor vehicle registration number
RAD 795B HYUNDAI BUS belonging to Volcano bus company and RAC 704L SCANIA BUS belonging to Trinity bus company.
A total of 20 Passengers from both buses were injured.
It's alleged that motor vehicle registration number RAD 795B Hyundai bus which was moving from Ntungamo heading to Kabale kept right when he reached Katinda bridge & ended up colliding head - on with motor vehicle RAC 704L Scania bus which was from Kabale side to Ntungamo on his lane.
The Police rushed to the scene and took all the victims to Itojo Hospital, Mbarara hospital & Doctor's referral hospital - Rubaare respectively for first aid treatment.

Uganda's game versus Tanzania in the African cup of nations qualifiers ended 0:0 for the the second leg first half at Benjamin Mkappa stadium in Tanzania after an extended break on 39th minute into first half brought about due to floodlights failure, the match was temporarily halted for nearly 30 minutes perhaps the longest time in one match as officials struggled to have lights on again but finally the match resumed and ends 0:0, we're now underway into second half .

Combating Terrorism and Violence: Uganda Police Force Showcases Professionalism and Skills
The Uganda Police Force showcased its ability to combat terrorism and violent activities in a joint demo exercise held by the Directorate of Counter Terrorism and the Field Force Unit at the Kigo Marine Base-Entebbe on May 27th, 2023.
The exercise was held to demonstrate the police force's professionalism and use of advanced capabilities and tools.
During the exercise, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen Geoffrey Tumusiime Katsigazi, praised the police officers for their professionalism and dedication to serving the public.
He also warned criminals that the police force is now well-equipped to handle any threats of criminality in the country.
"I want to thank the government of Uganda for enabling us acquire the capabilities and tools that are helping us keep law and order in Uganda," said the DIGP.
He urged the officers to use their equipment in a reasonable and professional manner while they protect and serve the public.
The exercise involved a significant number of officers who used advanced equipment to demonstrate their skills. The police force also overcame several challenges during the exercise, highlighting their ability to adapt and respond to changing situations.
The government of Uganda has played a critical role in providing the necessary capabilities and tools to the police force to combat crime and terrorism. The police force has utilized these resources to protect and serve the public while maintaining professionalism and dedication to their duties.
Overall, the joint demo exercise demonstrated the police force's ability to combat terrorism and violent activities effectively. The Uganda Police Force is now better equipped to handle any threats of criminality in the country, and the public can have confidence in their ability

Pilots failed to take notice and respond to warning systems before a plane crashed in Tanzania, according to an investigation report.
19 people died when the plane crashed into Lake Victoria in November.

Uganda police force security system enhanced.
The Uganda Police Force has today received improved classified anti riots Control Vehicles (RCVs) for Public Order Management and Armored Personnel Carriers (APCS) to address the emerging security challenges.
The tactical armoured vehicles are to be used in volatile areas like Karamoja and combat zones in Somalia to guarantee the safety of officers and protect communities.
The equipment was handed over by AIGP Richard Edyegu, the Director of Engineering and Logistics at police headquarters Naguru on Thursday.
While receiving the vehicles, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Tumusiime Katsigazi noted that the equipment will improve the operational readiness of the Force. Utilize them for better performance.
We need to utilize these machines to do better. It is upon us that they are properly maintained and ensure they last longer and serve the purpose," said DIGP Katsigazi.
He added that the equipment is evidence that police are geared towards serving the community better and ensuring that they and their property are protected.
The DIGP thanked the Government for equipping and supporting the Police.
AIGP Edyegu on the other hand, noted that the main objective of this procurement was the need to equip Field Force Police (FFP) with improved versions of the APC and RCV that can handle the current operational challenges.
The procurement is also meant to improve the operational capacity of Anti stock theft unit in the Karamoja area by providing the personnel with safer and quicker means of transport as they protect and patrol in the Karamoja sub-region.
The equipment includes 15 Armored Personnel Carriers, 50 Riot Control Vehicles (RCVs).
