Drama as NRM officials force market vendors to close business and join others in welcoming party secretary Richard Todwong to Arua City

On Saturday March 22, 2025 dramatic events rocked Arua city when the ruling National Resistance Movement party in its known signature, forced everyone to support the party and its chairman, Yoweri Museveni.

The officials descended on the vendors, especially those at the Arua Central Market and ordered everyone to close business and go cheer Todwong, who was sent by the party to drum up support for the president as the 2026 general elections draw closer.

Punched to the corner, the vendors were left with no option as they painfully closed businesses and joined others in the streets to cheer the party and its chairman.
Portraits of the President were distributed to the vendors, who were seen carrying them to the late Ibrahim Abiriga's home in Anyafio, a city suberb.

Fish vendors were the most affected. However, when the officials took their nonsensical action to the tomato vendors, they got it rough.

A lady only identified as Faiza didn't take their nonsense lightly as she confronted them with all clans of obscenity.

"Umbenga kulukundu NRM imi uku ocogo imi indula afura. Gobigobi ti ani sende koli. Imi ti yobo jere vita foam mattress dii", literally meaning: for how long do you NRM guys, with diluted s***m want to confuse us? You have the money but why are you growing thin like a cow [pathologically] suffering from anthrax? Play with your wide mouth that looks like vita foam mattress" Faiza barked at the officials, sending the onlookers to a thunderous laughter.

Not yet done, the daughter of a late TTC (Teachers Training College) tutor, who comes from Abiriamajo primary school in Yumbe district, Fai (as the crowd abridged her name) brandished a mingling stick and charged at the officials, who didn't take it anymore as they took off to their heels.

Cases of NRM forcing Ugandans to support the party and its chairman are rife and we only need citizens like this Arua city-based lady to stop that.

Breathtaking:

Col. Byaruhanga who was recently posted as commander of the 409 brigade in Arua, has kissed death before taking the position.

The young officer died at a Kampala health facility reportedly of cardiac arrest - a similar case that killed Gen. Robert Aronda Nyakairima and Noble Mayombo.
As usual, Ugandans are on cloud nine, madly celebrating his demise on social media.
Celebrating the death of a person shows how weak we are!
RIP grandchild.

West Nile: President Museveni is unwelcome

Currently, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa Ssabalwanyi is touring the country to check the progress of PDM. He has so far toured three regions.
However, his pending journey to West Nile subregion might meet glitches as residents from Districts, Terego, Koboko and Yumbe have expressed displeasure with his slow delivery of services in the region.

Ashraf Acikule of Lomunga trading centre in Yumbe wonders what excuse will the president have for the people of Yumbe.

He argues "the Muzungu gave the district billions of shillings as a token of appreciation for hosting the world's biggest number of refugees, stressing this money was meant to tarmac the road from Arua-Terego- Yumbe and Moyo but five years down the road works have not commenced".

Acikule is a businessman dealing in produce and finds it difficult to transport his merchandise to Arua city because of the bad roads.

In Terego, Joseph Okuze of Kubala has no kind words for the government, asking when the construction of the road from Arua city to Yumbe via Terego will commence.

The 73-year old man vows; " if I get a chance to meet the president, I will ask him to explain what has caused the delayed construction of the road".

Okuze says he has never seen a tarmacked road for the seven decades he has lived under the sun.

Ariye Margaret of Koboko argues with poor infrastructure the PDM is nothing. She is a resident of Lobule.

This pair of slippers belongs to a bridegroom who turned up for a nikka (Islamic wedding) at Omugo sub county, Terego district recently, leaving many shocked to the marrow.
