Police Superintendent Defends Speed Bumps in Mbale City to Curb Reckless Driving
The Superintendent of Police overseeing the Express Penalty Scheme, Patrick Nyeko Kilama, has defended the installation of speed bumps along major roads within Mbale City. In a phone interview on The Morning Shake Up on Time FM, Nyeko emphasized that this measure aims to regulate the reckless driving behavior of motorists in the city. He highlighted Mbale's youthful population, noting that many drivers display exuberance on the roads, leading to a rise in road accidents.
Nyeko stated that the decision to install speed bumps was a collaborative effort between the city council and contractors, based on data from the Police Traffic Directorate revealing an average of four road crashes daily in the city center. However, Nyeko urged contractors to ensure the placement of adequate road signs along routes with speed bumps to alert unfamiliar motorists.

Bulambuli District Devastated by Floods: Homes Destroyed.
Recent floods in Bulambuli district have wreaked havoc, causing extensive damage to homes and injuring six children who have been promptly referred to Bunambutye resettlement health centre III.
The Upper Elgon region has faced landslides, while the Lower Elgon area has been inundated with floods. Despite the challenges, our hearts go out to all affected by these disasters, and we hope for swift relief and recovery.

Ibrah, aka Celebrity Shooter, Laid to Rest in Bududa: Leaves Behind Wife and 2-Year-Old Daughter
Today, the body of the late Ibrah, also known as Celebrity Shooter, was laid to rest at his parents' home in Bududa, Kuushu village. Ibrah was involved in a motorcycle accident that claimed his life. He is survived by his wife and a 2-year-old daughter.
