This is an idiom about love. It means to be completely enamored with someone.

Let's look at the following examples:

This idiom does not tell you to lay down and sleep. It means to spend some time thinking about something before making a final decision.

◇About the job offer I mentioned last time, you don’t have to give me an answer right away. Sleep on it, and get back to me by Friday.

◇We couldn't decide which house to buy so we decided to sleep on it.

◇Stretching is a great exercise. However, too much of a good thing can be bad. Excess stretching may harm the muscles.

◇Vitamin D can help in absorbing calcium. However, drinking too much Vitamin D supplements can cause other health problem. That's too much of a good thing.

◇I know you want to have a great birthday party for Sam. The indoor decorations are fine but the outdoor balloon tower, bouncy castle and ice cream cart crowded the yard. It's just too much of a good thing!
