BBC journalists, Victoria Gill and Helen Briggs wrote about the WWFs report on the state of the natural world in 2024. It shows that global wildlife populations have shrunk by an average of 73% in the past 50 years.
The loss of wild spaces was "putting many ecosystems on the brink", WWF UK head Tanya Steele said, and many habitats, from the Amazon to coral reefs, were "on the edge of very dangerous tipping points". ://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y3j0vzpl3o

Pavo and the Space Rock is a book that highlights animal and environmental conservation. It teaches children that all people need to look after their planet. We must not disturb the balance of nature.

I read about an amazing couple in Brazil who sought to rehabilitate a destroyed forest. They planted more than 2 million trees in 18 years and they revived the forest. Many animal special once gone returned. Such a good story!

News about Pavo for June. Here are some photos of children who recently received the book, they are from places like Taipei and Tainan. Also a big thank you to my wife's friend Amanda for using my book as an ice breaker for a wedding & marriage workshop. I also have been visiting some bookstores to promote Pavo. In some cases there is success and in other cases not.

Also I got some feedback from some readers. A grandma really enjoyed the story & it cheered her heart. A friend of mine bought the book to supplement his Chinese language studies.

At the end of last month, I made a trip to Kaohsiung City and I did a hiking trail at Shoushan (壽山) It is a well-known habitat of the Formosan rock macaques. So I hoped that I could film these animals in their natural habitat. Some of the monkeys were scared of my camera, possibly mistaking it for a weapon of some kind. I was happy to get close to some individuals without scaring them. Recently I heard about an organisation ACMC, 台灣獼猴共存推廣協會which teaches people about conservation and co-existance with these animals. I hope to meet the chairperson in the future.
