Good morning, day,evening or night when and where this msg. meets you to all sound men who took the time to invest in their craft let me take the time to compliment you on a job well done. With that said let's look at the elephant in the room.
LEARN TO CHARGE PROPERLY
I have no problem with a problem with a person who owns the truck, generator and sound system and charges a few dollars less than the guy who had to rent everything but some of you are not right in the head eg.
A jouvert band with 600 plus charging 650/750 for a costume renting a 40ft music truck let's say the job worth 25 to 30 k (random figures used) and you own everything I could see you charging 22 or 28k but not 10 or 12k you have to be mad because you providing a 500 to 600 k worth of equipment and the bandleaders telling you that they have 12k but they bringing an artist to use your 6k shure mic for 15min and they paying them 15k how you all does feel about that .
In closing let me say I like the way the truck, generator and insurance people make a price and they stuck to it. So my point is why can't we do the same. If you don't know how to charge ask around or let's standardize the price for 3ton, 10ton, 20ft and 40ft.
BUT I KNOW THAT THIS IS WISHFUL THINKING
