It’s not just the king, Rikki Jai, who is returning to the Chutney Soca Monarch competition. But Machel Montano has been named among the 30 semi-finalists to perform on February 8th, at The Rig in La Romaine. Former champion Neval Chatelall returns to the arena, as well as Adesh Samaroo, just to name a few.
The 2025 Edition of the Chutney Soca Monarch competition will have a wider international audience, as the promoters have signed a deal for the show to be distributed by the US-based International Film Group which uses platforms like AppleTV, Roku and Android TV, among others. This year will mark the 30th edition of the show.

MACHEL WANTS TO BE CHUTNEY KING:
Machel Montano has entered the BMobile Chutney Soca Monarch 30th anniversary show and has qualified for the semi final stage of the event. He will be required to perform at the semi final stage on Saturday February 8 in La Romaine. Also returning to the big stage are past champions, nine-time winner Rikki Jai and Neval Chatelal who have been absent from competition for a few years. The announcement was made by promoter George Singh on Thursday.
