Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) employees worked to repair a 24-inch water line on Pashley Street, Laventille after the line ruptured on July 11.
The line, which serves a local home, began leaking, prompting the repairs.
When Newsday reporter Josette Deonanan arrived on the scene, a WASA foreman was inside the hole, which was approximately seven feet deep, working to fix the leak while colleagues assisted from above.

Newsday's Darren Bahaw reports on clean-up efforts in Tobago in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl on July 1.
On the afternoon of July 1, Bahaw visited Charlotteville Main Road, the Northside Road and Bloody Bay where THA workers and residents worked to clear debris such as fallen trees and light poles after Hurricane Beryl's passage.
