The Archdiocese of POS is deeply saddened to share that RC priest, Fr Maurice White, resident at St Francis RC Church, Sangre Grande was injured in a robbery early this morning, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Vega de Oropuche, Sangre Grande. Medical personnel have advised he is receiving treatment and is stable.

Contrary to speculation circulating, he was not shot. We will update as more information is received.

We ask for your prayers for his recovery and for all involved. Let us remain united in faith, trusting in God’s healing and peace in our nation.

Spiritan Priest, Father Thomas Willemsen, praised the steelpan’s unifying impact on Trinidad and Tobago during the Thanksgiving Mass of the Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra on Sunday, January 12th, at the Holy Rosary RC Church.

In his homily, Fr. Willemsen reflected on the steelpan’s journey from oil drums to a source of beautiful music and unity, attributing its creation to God’s inspiration.

Members of All Stars turned out in full force, filling the church with the uplifting sounds of their music, embodying the spirit of gratitude and community.

Let’s pray for continued peace, love, harmony, and justice as we celebrate this iconic instrument’s contribution to our culture. 💫
