"Sackcloth and Ashes" is a powerful and thought-provoking calypso that delves into the importance of humility and repentance in seeking forgiveness and healing for Trinidad and Tobago. The title refers to the ancient practice of wearing sackcloth and ashes as a symbol of sorrow and repentance before The Almighty.

In the calypso, Banjela approach the throne of God, appealing to all citizens to acknowledge and repent for the evils that have been committed in the eyes of God. The lyrics spotlight the prevalent issues of greed and hate that have seemingly grown more pervasive.

The heartbreaking loss of innocent lives, particularly those of our children, is emphasized, with the recognition that turning away from God has contributed to the current state of our nation.

Addelon "Banjela" Braveboy is a prolific Songwriter, Composer, Entertainer, Producer

His dedication to Calypso and culture led him to enter the Trinidad and Tobago Young Kings Calypso Monarch competition for the very first time in 2017 as a finalist with his very own composition title "Wind of Change" capturing fourth place in 2018, second place in 2019 with another of his own written and composed calypso title ‘Bring it Back gaining third place. All the songs were adjudicated as one of the best forty calypsos for that said year which he also received an award from the National Action Cultural Committee.

2020 definitely was the year of Banjela! In February, he was crowned the National Young Kings Calypso Monarch, together with winning the Carapichaima Regional Calypso Competition title!
Banjela's objective is to bring change and hope to all people through his ever- changing musical offerings and to expand his music career into a limitless international market as he is well versed in all genres but continues to make great contributions within the Calypso and Soca arena because of his genuine love for his sweet twin Island Republic, Trinidad and Tobago.
