"لينتيس" أبعدُ من نقل بين اللغات. إنه رابط بين الثقافات والمجتمعات، وتقديمُ واقعنا من خلال رؤيتنا وتمثّلنا لهُ.

من خلال متابعتنا لما يُكتب عن واقع بلداننا العربية في الصحافة الأجنبية وما تنشره مراكز الدراسات وما يردُ في تقارير بعثات التعاون، تبين لنا أن هذه المضامين كثيرا ما يعُوزها فهم السياقات من داخلها. وأن ما يُقدّم في الصحافة العربية لا يبلغُ المتلقي القارئ بلغات أخرى، فوجدنا أنه علينا بذل جهد إعلامي وفكري بترجمة ما يُكتب عندنا وما نجدهُ يُساهم في تقديم صورة عنا من زاوية رؤية داخل الجنسية الثقافية واللغة العربية ذاتها.

لا شكّ أن كثيرا من المقالات والبحوث التي تصدرُ بالفرنسية والانجليزية وتتأسس على آليات تفكير وتحليل من داخل الثقافة التي ننتمي إليها، ولكنّ ما لا يصل إلى المتلقي القارئ بهاتين اللغتين كثيرا، وإن الاطلاع عليه مُفيدٌ جدا لما لمساهمته في بناء رؤية أكثر وضوحا وتوازنا.

كما أننا نعتبر أن ما يُكتب عنا في اللغات الأخرى من داخل بنية فكرية لثقافة أخرى مهمّ جدا، وكثيرا ما أفاد مُفكرينا وصحافيينا ومنظمات المجتمع المدني والجامعات في بلداننا خاصة فيما تعلق بأدوات التفكير ومناهجه.

"لينتيس" موقع يتأسس على هذه المقاربة التي تُريدُ إثراء المضامين وتوطيد صيغ التبادل بانتقاء المواد التي قد تُساعد مؤسسات رسمية ومراكز أكاديمية وباحثين وصحافيين باطلاعهم على مدوّنة نصوص هامّة ظلت غائبة عنهم.

"لينتيس" ينتقي من الصحافة الجادّة ومن المواقع المُحكّمة ومن الدراسات الهامّة ما يُترجمُ. لأنه مازال يؤمنُ أن تاريخ الترجمة خلقت ثورات فكرية في بلداننا، وأنه من الممكن أن تذهب أيضا إلى النقل بقدر ما كان التعريب هامّا ولا يزال.

"لينتيس" جسر للمعرفة وللتعرف علينا، وسبيل للحوار من خلال ما ننشر من نصوص. وسيبدأ بنشراته على البريد في انتظار أن تكون لنا من الإمكانيات ما يجعلنا نوفّر موادا أكثر وفي مجالات مُختلفة.

إننا نبدأُ، ولو ببعض النصوص، لأن فريقنا مُؤمنٌ بهذا المشروع وأنّهُ سيكبُرُ تدريجيا ببناء شراكات في منطقتنا وفي كل مكان من العالم مع مؤسسات وصحافيين وباحثين يشتركون معنا في رسالة الصحافة الجادة والفكر الحُرّ.

Lintis is way more than just translating from one language into another. Rather, it seeks to be a bridge between cultures and societies and a means to present our reality as we understand it through our own lens.

On the one hand, as we read about Arab countries in foreign newspapers, and in the publications and reports of research and cooperation centers, we come to realize that the content offered often fails to demonstrate adequate understanding of the contexts as they genuinely unfold in those countries. On the other, the content presented by the Arab press is not accessible to the readers who speak other languages. It is against this backdrop that we found it necessary to dedicate our journalistic and intellectual effort to the translation of some of the content that is published in this part of the world and that could help to tell our stories from within our cultural identity by the Arabic language itself.

True, a lot of the articles and research studies that are published in French or English are ingrained in the thinking and analysis mechanisms of our culture. However, much of what is published in the Arab region remains inaccessible, hence the importance of translation to facilitating access to that material and to building a clearer and more balanced understanding of the Arab landscape.

From another perspective, we consider that what is written about us in other languages based on other cultural and intellectual paradigms is of paramount importance and has been clearly useful to Arab thinkers, journalists, civil society organizations and universities, notably in terms of the tools and methodologies for thinking.

Lintis is a website that takes all these considerations into account, striving to provide richer content and to promote exchanges through presenting a corpus of texts that could be of interest to official institutions, academic centers, and researchers and that would otherwise have remained unknown to them.

The material selected for translation by Lintis is published in quality press, refereed websites and key studies. This is because we believe that throughout history, translation into the Arabic language has brought about intellectual revolutions in our countries and that translating from Arabic into other languages has been, and will remain of similar importance.

Lintis is a bridge that connects us to others and that facilitates the circulation of knowledge. It is also an open door for dialogue based on the texts that we publish. Pending the availability of more resources, Lintis, in its first phase, will take the shape of an online newsletter. At a later stage, we will broaden both the range of the material chosen and the fields targeted.

The few texts that we present here are only the initial steps in a long journey. We firmly believe in our project and look forward to making it grow slowly but steadily through building partnerships that bring together institutions, journalists and researchers in our region and worldwide whose common motto is “quality journalism and free thinking”.

#لينتيس | What do we mean by Lintis?

[AR] Lintis هي عبارة عن لفظة مركبة من كلمتين من أصل لاتيني "Lingua" اللغة و"Pontis" الجسر. نعتبر أن الترجمة هي جسر يفسح المجال لرؤية متجذرة في الواقع العربي المتنوع من خلال خطاب نقدي محايث لإشكالاته وتناقضاته. #جسر #اللغة #محايث #نقدي

[ENG] Lintis is a neologism that we came up with. Two Latin words come into play; Lingua which means language and Pontis which stands for bridge.
Hence, we consider translation to be a path that leads to a more anchored and authentic view of the diverse arabic context. Especially since we try to gather readings that are critical in nature and immanent to the issues and contradictions of this region.

[FR] Lintis est un mot composé de deux mots d'origine latine la langue de "Lingua" et le pont de "Pontis". Nous considérons la traduction comme un pont qui ouvre la voie à une vision enracinée dans la réalité arabe diversifié à travers un discours critique immanent à ses problèmes et ses contradictions.

[AR] في ظل تعدد الخطاب الإعلامي، يجد المتلقي نفسه عاجزا عن فهم الواقع و تناقضاته. فكيف له أن يميز الخطاب الدقيق والمبني على تحليل الواقع؟

[ENG] In a very diverse media discourse, many of us paradoxically find themselves confused and unable to understand the reality of things and its contradictions. So how can we be able to distinguish solid and well-founded discourses?

[FR] Face à la multitude des discours médiatiques, l'audience visée se trouve confuse entre plusieurs perspectives. Comment peut t-on distinguer les discours solides et bien fondés?
