🚙BMA accelerates underpass construction projects in Thonburi area with emphasis on safety measures for vehicle users and pedestrians

Mr. Narong Ruengsri, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), has site visits to monitor the progress of underpass construction projects in the areas of Thonburi side of Bangkok. He also urges the contractors and project officers to accelerate the construction projects to be completed as planned, especially the main structures such as the floor and roof. Once the construction is completed, traffic must be opened to the public to ease traffic congestion. Then, the rest of the construction work must be gradually checked and corrected.

This includes the preparedness in preventing drainage problem in case of heavy rains and the cleaning of construction sites to be in an orderly manner. The Deputy Permanent Secretary also reiterates the strict compliance with safety measures in construction sites and surrounding areas, for example, safety barrier arrangement, installation of construction tarpaulins, lighting, signal lights, warning signs, as well as areas for U-turn and temporary pedestrian crossings during the construction. All these will increase safety for the people who use roads and vehicles in this area. Road repair work in order to return traffic surface at the construction site to the public has been carried out continually as well as the improvement of pedestrian walkways so that the people can travel conveniently and safely along the routes in the construction areas.
