PinoyThaiyo Emblazing Filipinos in Thailand and Abroad Welcome to the page of PinoyThaiyo, the first and only Filipino online magazine in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Pinoy Thaiyo aims to raise awareness of various issues, trends, practices and other events that are of significant importance to the Filipino community in Thailand first and foremost as well as Filipinos in other parts of the world. By having the magazine published in English, we hope that it can also serve as a tool for other nationalities to see the Philippines in a more positive light and gain

a better understanding of Filipinos in general which will ultimately lead to their appreciation of our culture. The name Pinoy Thaiyo came as a result of a play on words that had both Filipino and Thai in them. “Tayo” which is the Filipino word for “We”, had its spelling changed to make it both unique and easily remembered.

Thailand has marked a major tourism milestone, welcoming its one millionth visitor from the UK in 2025 as long-haul arrivals hit a historic high.

The landmark arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport reflects the full recovery of the UK market and a record year for travellers from Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. Long-haul arrivals have now surpassed 10 million, accounting for more than 30 percent of all international visitors to the country.

UK travellers remain a key driver of this growth, with longer stays, higher spending and strong demand for destinations including Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Krabi. Expanded airline connectivity and high winter load factors continue to fuel momentum, with more routes and capacity expected in 2026.

Tourism officials say the focus is shifting toward value-driven travel, promoting longer stays, diversified destinations and more sustainable growth beyond peak seasons.
