Updated: Thailand No-Quarantine Entry. Welcome India, and Vietnam!

Good news!

The Thai government (Ministry of Tourism, Thailand) has added an additional 17 countries to the list of countries welcome to Thailand with their fully-vaccinated citizens not having to undergo quarantine in Thailand, bringing up the total number of eligible countries to 63! The additional countries include Vietnam, India, Malaysia, and many neighboring countries, as listed below.

Various protocols still do apply, including a 1-night mandatory stay at an AQ (Alternative Quarantine) site when arriving in Thailand, but this is for the purposes of awaiting results for the arrival COVID-19 PCR-RT test.

Hi all. We wanted to share some important COVID-19 update, no-quarantine entry protocols for eligible countries and citizens as per the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

Lifting of Quarantine Restrictions for Entering Thailand

Starting from the 1st of November 2021, Thailand will be lifting quarantine restrictions for fully vaccinated foreign visitors arriving by air travel from 46 countries. (List below). According to the details provided by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, these are the requirements and protocols that need to be adhered to.

1) No Quarantine: No quarantine will be necessary for citizens traveling from eligible countries. As long as the traveler has been staying at the eligible disembarking country for more than 21 days, they will be considered as eligible and will not need quarantining in Thailand.

2) COVID-19 test (RT-PCR) >72 hours prior to departure: Travelers will need a RT-PCR test taken at the disembarking country not more than 72 hours before the date of departure.

3) COVID-19 test (RT-PCR) upon arrival: Travelers arriving in Thailand will be given a mandatory COVID-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival and 1-night mandatory stay at a SHA+ or AQ facility in Thailand. (See 4.)

4) 1-night Mandatory Stay at SHA+ or AQ facility in Thailand: Regardless of the above, incoming travelers will still need to book for, and stay for 1-night state-quarantine or alternative-state quarantine hotel or facility, while they await the results of their RT-PCR COVID-19 test taken when they arrive in Thailand. If the results are positive, they will be subject to 14-days of quarantine or admitted for treatment. A SHA+/AQ hotel/facility Confirmation Booking will be needed. List of AQ hotels in Thailand can be found here.

5) Vaccination Requirements: Travelers will need to be fully vaccinated as per the regulations and guidelines of the WHO or Thai Ministry of Health, for a period of no less than 14 days before arriving in Thailand. The list of approved vaccines and the minimum dosage required in order to be considered "fully-vaccinated" is here (See Details).

6) Medical Insurance: Non-Thai, foreign travelers will need a medical insurance package/policy prior to entering Thailand, with a minimum coverage amount of not less than USD 100,000, and must include treatment costs for COVID-19. Thai citizens returning to Thailand will not require medical insurance.

7) Certificate of Vaccination: A Certificate of Vaccination will be required which is issued by a certified medical facility or government facility where the traveler was vaccinated. They should include the following details. (See here).

8) Certificate of Entry: Travelers will need as usual, as of this time, a Certificate of Entry (CEO) issued by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.

9) Visas: Visas should be applied at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate at disembarking countries as usual, or can be done online (see link in the article).

Thailand was the 1st country outside of China to be struck by the COVID-19 Coronavirus earlier this year. Yet, almost 6 months later with cases around the world in excess of 100,000+ in various countries, and almost 3,000,000+ in the US alone, Thailand's numbers stand at 3,217 total infected cases, and 58 deaths.

So what has Thailand (and the Thais) done correctly?

Dear all!

It is with a great sense of motivated resilience and vigilance, that we are looking ahead to restart our film production season in Thailand and South East Asia.

The latest update from the Thai government has officially eased restrictions with regards to Film Production in Thailand, whereby crews up to 50 persons can be present at any film set. Both studio shoots and on-location shoots are officially allowed now. We are looking forward to our next shoot soon!

As such, international incoming travel into Thailand is still restricted until 30th June 2020. So for this, we would like to offer our Remote Production Service and offer our expertise in production, logistics and communication technologies in making remote shooting both efficient and effective for you. Here are some details.

Our "Internet Broadcast/Remote Production Service" is a way in which you can remotely co-direct and manage a shoot taking place here under our care, by having access to live video feed of the director's monitor, set camera and live video view of offline edited files at the set.

Footage is relayed directly from the camera(s) at set, there is an OB team switching between feeds, and a professional grade encoder and broadcast unit which transmits the feed to a private server on the internet. Internet connectivity is obtained through 4-5 redundant connections of 4G SIMs (or a satellite uplink truck if there is not mobile internet), the speed is multiplexed between all connections and also provides with connection redundancy. We can also view the video from the director on client on the remote side (if they have one), and they can communicate with the local team instantaneously.

These broadcast methods are already widely used by news crews (such as CNN, BBC) and sports crews around the world, without the need of dedicated satellite vans.

So lets start shooting soon!!!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to say hello to you all, follow-up how everyone is, and update you on ourselves and our team during the past two months. So we are all safe (now). Last month one of our team members had the Covid-19 virus. He/She was under a lot of duress, but thanks be to all the wonderful healthcare professionals who took such great care, he/she is now fully recovered.

We, like everyone have been under lockdown for the past two months. But as of today and soon next week, restrictions are easing and we shall soon be able to begin some shoots in a limited sense. Details from the Association of Filmmakers in Thailand and the government are releasing soon, and shall update you all here!

We were called last minute to setup an intercontinental satellite up-link to (and from) Isreal. Roy David's rabbi couldn't travel for a major million-dolllar Chabad fundraiser dinner (due to the fears).

But we opted for the redundant multi-4G cellular network system (Pepwave Max), instead. Such as used by CNN, BBC and other major networks. Its currently 3am in Bangkok, 9pm at Tel Aviv.
