The Family, The U.Groundrs, Aleppo - Lattakia

Founded in 2004, in response to a common need among musicians and local bands to find a training place in Aleppo, which was almost impossible at the time.

The idea developed and U.Ground became a meeting point for many musicians, lots of beginners and some professionals. Through several changes to the location of U.Ground inside Aleppo and after overcoming many financial difficulties over several years, these musicians who had developed lots of musical experiences were able to make U.Ground a small community for exchanging experiences and a ground for musical activities in Aleppo. U.Ground began then to attract more and more enthusiastic youth, and relatively important musical events began to emerge.

Everything stopped in 2008 after the authorities closed U.Ground and imposed security restrictions on the activities of this group of musicians.

In 2009, U.Ground gradually returned again by a group of U.Grounders who had not abandoned the idea to become official again in 2010. Many activities and events began to emerge, while many musicians during this period evolved to the stage of professionalism. In this particular period, after the realization of all these financial and security risks and difficulties, the priority was to exchange and transfer experiences to the youth, organize lessons and develop musical events so that the U.Ground family can expand much more than before and attract more and more music lovers. U.Ground then, and for the first time, started to have much more support from old or and more experienced musicians in the scene, and what appeared to be a dream in the past turned real where the spirit of support and cooperation spread among all musicians, as well as the exchange of experiences along the road.
