Demand for Inclusivity and Accessible Education for Refugee Youths in Settlements
Dear and Education Implementing Partners,
We are writing to advocate for the inclusion and accessibility of education for refugee youths in the settlement. Education is an essential human right, and it is crucial to provide educational opportunities to refugee youths. The youth in the refugee settlement face numerous challenges, including limited access to educational opportunities and lack of funds to attend private universities.
We are concerned about the age limit imposed on scholarship programs in the refugee settlements. We demand that UNHCR and other education implementing partners reconsider the age limit and ensure that educational opportunities are available to all refugee youth. Limiting educational opportunities based on age is discriminatory and unfair. It is important to note that some of the refugee youth may have missed out on educational opportunities due to conflict and displacement, and they should not be denied a chance to pursue their education.
We also request that UNHCR and OPM open higher learning institutions in the refugee settlements to provide education to the refugee youth who have completed S4 and S6. Many refugee youths who have completed their secondary education are unable to afford private universities and are left without any educational opportunities. By opening higher learning institutions in the refugee settlements, these youths will have access to further education and skills development that can help them build better futures for themselves and their communities.
We urge you to take immediate action to ensure that educational opportunities are inclusive and accessible to all refugee youths. We believe that education is a crucial tool for empowerment and can help the youth in the refugee settlement to achieve their full potential and contribute to the development of their communities.
Thank you for considering our request, and we look forward to your positive response.
Best regards,
The Refugee Voice Management
