The truck full of books and other stationery tipped over and its rollover. The stationery spilled out on the ground, and they're safe without anyone stealing them. If it was liquor or foodstuff, it would've been a mess of looters.

This is an indication that we (Africans) are less concerned with books 📚

Socialism is not about big concepts and heavy theory. Socialism is about decent shelter for those who are homeless. It is about water for those who have no safe drinking water. It is about health care, it is about a life of dignity for the old. It is about overcoming the huge divide between urban and rural areas. It is about a decent education for all our people. Socialism is about rolling back the tyranny of the market. As long as the economy is dominated by an unelected, privileged few, the case for socialism will exist.

John Frog is a South Sudanese Afrobeat and Hip Hop musician (born 1 January 1993). He gained recognition for his hit song "Guondo Sakit," which became popular across East Africa.

John Frog was born and raised in Turalei Payam in Warrap State of South Sudan to Mr. Michael Mahok Maming and Mrs. Akuel Manyiel Akok. Both of John Frog's parents hail from Twic Mayardit County of Warrap State where His Excellency, Salva Kiir Mayardit is from. He speaks his native language Dinka, Juba Arabic, English and Swahili.

John Frog started his educational career in the early 2000s in Turalei at St. Joseph Primary School where he completed his primary education. He later moved to Juba in 2006.

Both his parents were soldiers in the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), and he was a child soldier, joining the army when he was around 10 and receiving his first firearm at 14.

Because of this background, John Frog did not have a smooth path completing his education in time, due to other factors, including the civil war which denied many South Sudanese children access to quality education. However, in 2014, John joined Juba Day Senior Secondary School where he completed his South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education in 2018.

He was named Aguek, which when translated to English, means "frog", because he was a breech baby. Before embarking on his music career, he used to entertain his school colleagues and friends, often telling them he would become a big artist one day. He completed his secondary education before fully venturing into music.

John Frog began his music career in the early 2010s. He rose to fame in 2018 when he release a solo single "Guondo Sakit," a phrase in Juba Arabic meaning "a common person" or "just a villager." The song's success marked his entry into the music scene and established him as one of the biggest artists in South Sudan.

John Frog has been involved in a controversy with his first and former music manager, K2 (real name Koryom). K2 is credited with helping John Frog in his early music career but was later accused by Frog of using him for personal gain. Their public feud was eventually settled by K2's sister, businesswoman Achai Wiir.

From April to May 2023, John Frog was voted among the top 10 best artists in South Sudan by fans and recognized by Eye Radio.

Nominations and awards

TODAY IN HISTORY!!

The Comprehensive Peace Agreement also known as the Naivasha Agreement, was an accord signed on 9 January 2005, by the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the Government of Sudan. The CPA was meant to end the Second Sudanese Civil War, develop democratic governance countrywide, and share oil revenues. It also set a timetable for a Southern Sudanese independence referendum.

The peace process was encouraged by the intergovernmental Authority On Development (IGAD),in addition to a "troika" of donor countries comprising the United States,United Kingdom and Norway.

The process resulted in the following agreements (also referred to as protocols):

The Machakos Protocol (or Chapter I), signed in Machakos, Kenya on 20 July 2002. Agreement on broad principles of government and governance.
The Protocol on Power Sharing (or Chapter II), signed in Naivasha, Kenya on 26 May 2004
The Agreement on Wealth Sharing (or Chapter III), signed in Naivasha, Kenya on 7 January 2004
The Protocol on the Resolution of the Conflict in Abyei Area (or Chapter IV), signed in Naivasha, Kenya on 26 May 2004
The Protocol on the Resolution of the Conflict in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile States (or Chapter V), signed in Naivasha, Kenya on 26 May 2004
The Agreement on Security Arrangements (or Chapter VI), signed in Naivasha, Kenya on 25 September 2003
The Permanent Ceasefire and Security Arrangements Implementation Modalities and Appendices (or Annexure I), signed in Naivasha, Kenya on 30 October 2004
The Implementation Modalities and Global Implementation Matrix and Appendices (or Annexure II), signed in Naivasha, Kenya, on 31 December 2004
The final, comprehensive agreement was signed on 9 January 2005 and marked the commencement of implementation activities.

On 11 October 2007, the SPLM withdrew from the government of national unity (GoNU), accusing the central government of violating the terms of the CPA. In particular, the SPLM states that the Khartoum-based government, which is dominated by the National Congress Party, has failed to withdraw over 15,000 troops from southern oilfields and failed to implement the Protocol on Abyei. The SPLM stated that it was not returning to war, while analysts noted that the agreement had been disintegrating for some time, notably because of international focus on the conflict in nearby Darfur.

The SPLM announced that it was rejoining the government on 13 December 2007, following an agreement. The agreement states that the seat of government will rotate between Juba and Khartoum every three months, though it appears that this will be largely symbolic, as well as funding for a census (vital for the referendum) and a timetable for the withdrawal of troops across the border.

Northern Sudanese troops finally left Southern Sudan on 8 January 2008.

SOUTH SUDAN INDEPENDENCE 🇸🇸

A referendum was held from 9 to 15 January 2011 to determine if South Sudan should declare its independence from Sudan, with 98.83% of the population voting for independence. It became independent as the Republic of South Sudan on 9 July 2011.

Popular consultations for Blue Nile and South Kordofan were suspended[when?] as part of the ongoing conflict in those regions between the northern wing of the SPLA and the Justice and Equality Movement against the central government.
