True story and the current position and ideal of Abyei box and the war afflicted on the territory of Twic Mayardit

You are challenging (killing) our very existence, and one day, you will regret your actions when the truth of the Abyei box comes to light. This land is sacred; it is where we honour the legacy of leaders like the late Dr John Garang de Mabior, Kharbino Kuanyin Bol, Dominic Dim Deng, and Justin Yach Arop Makerdit, along with countless heroines who gave their lives for our freedom.

After 21 arduous years, we liberated this territory from outside control, and now it feels as if you are risking returning it to those who once oppressed us. Our choice to bear arms was not for selfish gain but out of a profound need to defend the sovereignty of South Sudan.

The innocent souls we lose in this battle will ask what wrong we have committed when we stand guard over our ancestors’ land. This territory, especially in Twic, is steeped in history and the struggles of our people against those who seek to reclaim what belongs in our hearts.

We have sacrificed the lives of leaders, including our future president governors, ministers, and numerous officials, to protect our rights. The spectre of annexation threatens to claim the life of a general who stands with us for our sovereignty. Our fallen leaders—Dr. John, Kharbino, Dominic, and Justin—watch over us, and what you do against their legacy resonates deeply within our souls.

This battle goes beyond the present; it’s about affirming our rightful claim to South Sudan. We will remain steadfast, inspired by the sacrifices made, and we will continue our fight for our home and heritage until justice prevails. Together, we shall rise and honor their memory, fueled by the belief that our cause is just and noble.

Violence erupted in the Abyei Special Administrative Area, particularly around the area known as the White House.

According to local sources, the authorities in the Abyei Special Administrative Area have executed several individuals responsible for the murder of Captain Deng Alor Achuol, a police officer.

This grim act involved the firing squad ex*****on of 17 individuals and has significantly heightened tensions in the community, leading to a deepening divide along ethnic lines.

Bak Lual Akot, a fortunate survivor of a recent assassination attempt, shared the harrowing details of his escape from armed captors in the Abyei Administrative Area. The incident unfolded as Akot and four companions were attempting to cross from Abyei to Warrap State when they were ambushed by a group of seven masked attackers.

Describing the ordeal, Akot recounted how the assailants, concealing their identities beneath masks that covered their faces and heads, seized control and began to interrogate the group. The tense situation turned dire, leaving Akot with a singular opportunity to flee. In a moment of quick thinking, he managed to break free from his captors and spent a tense night aboard a bus, wrestling with his fears and concerns for his colleagues who remained in captivity.

After enduring the uncertainty of the night, Akot eventually reached safety at the Mjak-Kol military barracks, where he reported his ordeal. There, he learned the grim news that four of his companions were still missing, and he found himself haunted by the uncertainty of their fates—whether they were alive or, tragically, had met a worse outcome.

A captain at the Mjak-Kol military barracks confirmed Akot's account and provided insights regarding the ongoing situation. He stated that efforts were underway to engage with relevant authorities in Abyei, hoping for the safe return of the missing men so they could be reunited with their families.

Commissioner Adhar Akok Ador from Twic County also acknowledged the seriousness of the incident, identifying the missing individuals as Cyer Ajou from Wunrok Payam in Twic County, two men hailing from Alek Aguok, and one from Aweil. He characterized the conflict as an unfortunate "cleansing" between the two communities involved, highlighting the escalating tensions that have seen violent outbreaks in the region.

The ongoing conflict between the Twic and Abyei communities continues to exact a heavy toll, with numerous lives lost and violations of the ceasefire agreement reported. Efforts by local authorities in Abyei to address and comment on the situation appear to have been unsuccessful, leaving many in the community grappling with fear and uncertainty.

South Sudanese singer Lady Kola has finally released her diss track, "Raan Amok," sparking speculation about the target of her lyrical wrath. The song, which premiered on YouTube earlier today, is a direct response to an unnamed ex-husband, as promised by the singer last week.

"As I promised yesterday, guys, the song is premiering on YouTube in less than 15 minutes," Lady Kola announced on social media, leaving fans eager to hear the fiery new release.

While the singer hasn't publicly revealed the identity of her former spouse, fans are buzzing with theories, trying to decipher the lyrics and clues within the song. The lack of a specific name has fueled the mystery, adding another layer to the drama surrounding the release.

The influx of people fleeing the war in Sudan remains high, with an average of 1,800 individuals crossing into South Sudan daily.

The International Organization for Migration ( South Sudan) is assisting to receive and transport the returnee and refugee families to their final destinations in various parts of the country.

To date, the organization has assisted the movement of more than 200,000 individuals to reach their final destinations by air, barge, and other means.

IOM Emergency Coordinator, Aaron Adkins reports that the ongoing rainy season is severely impacting road access to border points where returnees and refugees are arriving from Sudan.

Adkins highlighted that approximately 1,800 individuals continue to cross the border into South Sudan daily, fleeing conflict in Sudan.

“We supported people to move to many different parts of the country, including northern Jonglei and southern Upper Nile to Malakal itself as a final destination, as well as to Bentiu, but then also large numbers of people to Wau into Juba," said Adkins, "And then those people have found their way through commercial or public transport onto other parts of the country, from Juba outwards."

JUST IN: Boost for South Sudan basketball fans as new information indicates South Sudan has a strong chance of advancing to the knockout rounds.

South Sudan is currently sitting 3rd in its group, behind the USA and Serbia.

Here's what this means:
1. South Sudan will qualify directly if they win against Serbia on Saturday.

2. The Bright Stars can still qualify through a tie-breaker if they lose narrowly to Serbia, provided that either Japan loses to Brazil or Spain loses to Canada.

With this in mind, the Bright Stars have a high probability of making it to the quarterfinals.

On July 22, 2024, a joint ‘Technical Security Committee’ comprising NSS, SSNPS, and SSPDF officers led by Col. Makur Akec Chong, known in the SPLA as ( Makur-Addis) was constituted by the Joint General security command, tasked to evaluate and verify the deployment of Twic-Abyei Mission’s forces in the areas selected by the Joint General Command after holding disengagement meetings with Twic and Ngok in May 2024.

The formation of the said joint security committee came as a result of numerous reports of unfair deployment, isolation and assembling of the sons of Warrap state within the Abyei-Twic Mission far away from the designated areas for the deployment as per the order of the President of the Republic, to create a buffer-zone between Twic of Warrap and Ngok of Abyei.

On 24th July 2024, Col. Makur Akec Chong convened a secret meeting with the following 4 members of Ngok Dinka at the Juba University Staff Club.

3. Mading Deng kuol
4. Arop Deng kuol

Discussing the objective of such a mission with members of one of communities to the conflict puts questions on the transparency and neutrality of Col. Makur Akec, and will certainly raise serious concerns over the credibility of the investigation and verification report.
Appeal is here made to the joint general command to take note of this new development.

Unfortunately, a tragic incident involving the National Police occurred during their response to orders from General Arop Luku, the leader of the Abyei mission & Titbaai forces. The police personnel, originally stationed at Athony in Twic County, were directed to relocate to Nyin Deng Ayuel village. While en route, their vehicle was involved in a fatal accident, resulting in the immediate loss of 6 lives and injuries to 13 others during the early hours of Wednesday.
