The University of Juba students have staged a peaceful demonstration at Main Campus in response to the atrocities committed by the Sudanese Army (SAF) after they recaptured the strategic city of Wad Medani, the Capital of Al Jezire State.

Students call on the International Community to take swift action against inhumane practices in the Sudan.

President Salva Kiir has reshuffled the National Transitional Committee, the body responsible for overseeing the implementation of South Sudan's 2018 peace agreement.

Kuol Manyang Juuk has been appointed as the new chairperson of the committee, succeeding Tut Gatluak Manime.

Gatluak has been reassigned from his role as Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs to serve as the Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs. General Thoi Chany Reat has been named the new Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs.

SPLM Leadership endorses Economic Reforms

Thursday, 9 January /2025, the leadership of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) convened a significant meeting with leaders of last Tuesday.

The SPLM Chairman Cde Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued strict directives to SPLM members and cadres serving in the government to address urgent economic matters, as follows:

Timely Payment of Salaries: Immediate action must be taken to secure and disburse salaries without further delay.

Revenue Collection: Non-oil revenue collection must strictly adhere to the law, ensuring that no individual or entity is above the law.

Tax Exemptions: All illegal tax exemptions must be stopped immediately.

Implementation of Orders: All orders issued by the Chairman must be implemented without exception or delay.

The SPLM assures the people of South Sudan that these directives reflect the party’s commitment to addressing pressing economic challenges and safeguarding the rights and welfare of all citizens.

The meeting also emphasized the proper management of petroleum resources:

Infrastructure Development: Resources designated for infrastructure projects must be appropriately supervised to ensure accountability and efficiency.

Salary and Operational Budgets: Oil revenues from Blocks 3 and 7 must be allocated specifically to salaries and government operations

To ensure compliance and accountability, SPLM cadres will be convened next week for further communication on these critical directives.

The SPLM reaffirms its dedication to overcoming challenges and delivering on its commitments to the people of South Sudan

(b) The team is fined 500,000SSP with a written apology to AoA in order to participate in the next olympics tournament.

(c) The two goals and three points are awarded to the Nyang team due to insults and violence caused by the Amuk Football Team.

South Sudanese Musician Bilpham Akech is alleged to have been involved in a road accident that claimed a live of Lt Thiep Akol (Boda Boda rider) on spot along Pope Francis Road.
The decease is believed to have come from Kuac-Ayok, Gogrial of Warrap State, according to our sources.

Eyewitnesses stressed that Bilpham was under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened. He's currently in custody, and investigations are underway..

Agasio Agany proposes to his lovely girlfriend, Achan Mou

On a memorable evening filled with love and joy, Mr. Agasio Agany Achuil Agany made a stunning marriage proposal to his girlfriend, Ms. Ashan Mou Mou Akeen during her birthday party at the Pyramid Continental Hotel in Juba.
