A 37-year-old man, Deng Akeen Wol has fell off from the tree and died while attempting to catch marabou stork's chicks in Ayai village in Aweil South County.

Police say the victim, reportedly under influence of alcohol, had his feet slipped off the branch and fell breaking his neck and immediately succumbed to injuries.

The Director of Police in the County described the incident to Akol Yam FM as 'unfortunate' stressing the importance of seeking other alternative ways of survival instead of risking life by climbing.

NBGS Governor Simon Ober Mawut relieves Assembly's Minority Chief Whip, names replacement

The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Simon Ober Mawut has issued a gubernatorial decree this evening relieving Hon. Deng Nyiwel Dhieu as minority Chief Whip at the State assembly.

In a separate decree, the Governor appointed Hon. Santino Garang Awech as Minority Chief Whip in the NBGS Revitalized State Transitional Legislative Assembly.
