Breaking News: Aweil Youth Union Elections Extended

In a surprising turn of events, the scheduled election date for the Aweil Youth Union in Juba has been postponed and extended by 21 days, according to the office of AYU.

According to the official document seen by Aweil News Agency, the move comes after insufficient time for invited dignitaries to grace the event. Hence, the convention has been rescheduled from October 5th to October 26, 2024.

Earlier this month, the Chairlady of AYU questioned undisclosed individuals on her page as to why they were quiet following the extension of the South Sudan General Elections to December 2026 but would make noise if she extended the AYU election.

The extension of the fourth convention of AYU-Juba by 21 days drew much attention from general assembly members and sparked curiosity leaving some members asking whether the chairlady is implementing what she had posted on her Facebook wall few days ago.

According to the members of general assembly, the tenure of Aweil Youth Union in Juba was expected to elapse on 18th March 2024.

“In The Words of PLO Lumumba

There must be a need to fear an intellectual thief. Once he steals in public office and gets fired or his tenure elapses, he goes home to enjoy and when those resources gets finished, he comes back hunting for another public office as a ticket to steal again.

This time, he claims academic excellence, he will speak complicated grammar and big terms, talk of his academic discoveries and worse of all mobilize and deploy his tribesmen and women to attack whoever that touches his past and say he was a thief.

Once you say he's a thief and he once steal, they says, “yeah, we know he's a thief but our thief, do you have problem with us?” And in the campaign processes, those narrow-minded youth with "academic lust" will rush in and say “ohh, wehh, you know, he is an academician, he deserves, he deserves, he's capable, he an intellectual, he deserves, those who do not need him are bought” until he wins election and defeat an innocent saint who have not mobilized his tribesmen and do do not have good grammar. But few months later after elected, he goes and steal again and chaos erupts. Africa is in the business of canonizing thieves and demonizing saints.

Magwi man recovering after being circumcised by suspected rats

A 28-year-old man is positively responding to treatment after the fo****in of his private part was bizarrely circumcised by rats while sleeping in Magwi County of Eastern Equatoria State, a local official said.

The administrator of Lobone in Magwi, Okee Joseph, stated that the condition of the unidentified young man has improved, having returned from Kitgum Hospital in Uganda, where he was referred for treatment.

In an interview with Eye Radio on Saturday, Okee said the survivor woke up in the morning only to find that the fo****in of his private part had been chewed off by rats.

He mentioned that the 28-year-old suffered serious damage to the p***s gland, leaving local doctors without a clue before he was referred for specialized treatment at Kitgum.

After returning from a funeral, this boy went to sleep in his room. When he woke up in the morning, he discovered that rats had consumed the fo****in and part of the g***s of his male organ. "That's something miraculous,"

He said. "The top of his organ has been sucked, and he does not know." He was taken to Lobone PHCC, but the situation became difficult for the doctors to manage, so he was referred to Kitgum Referral Hospital in Uganda.

He said the victim has been brought back from Uganda, and his condition has improved, except that he is now nursing wounds around the g***s.

🇸🇸 Luol Deng banks a net worth of $200 million (estimate) with on-court and off-court ventures.

Luol Ajou Deng aka OBE, meaning the winner of Order of British Empire (OBE) is a South Sudanese-British former professional basketball player born in 1985. He was a two-time NBA All-Star with the Bulls and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2012. Born in what is now South Sudan, Deng fled the country with his family as a child, eventually settling in the United Kingdom. He became a British citizen in 2006, and played for the Great Britain national team.

He earned his millions in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞

Luol Ajou Deng was born on April 16, 1985, in Wau, Sudan (now South Sudan). He was only eight years old when he and his family left Sudan to escape the civil war at the time, thus moving to Egypt and then settling in London. By the time he turned 13, he already represented England as a member of the Brixton Basketball Club. At the age of 14, he moved to the U.S. to hone his basketball skills further at Blair Academy in New Jersey. Luol Deng was regarded as the second most promising high school senior in America after LeBron James.

Loul continued on to Duke University to play basketball where he became the only freshman in the history of ACC to lead all rookies in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage. After spending just one year at Duke, Deng declared for the NBA Draft.

𝐍𝐁𝐀

With the seventh overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns selected Loul but promptly traded him to the Chicago Bulls due to a prior agreement. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2005 and was a two-time All-Star in 2012 and 2013. Deng split his 2013-14 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and after just a half season, he joined Miami Heat and joined Bulls in a one day contract and retires.

Governor Ober meets with the Country’s Chief Justice to acquaint himself with the late Abuk Lual’s case and pressing judicial issues in the state

Juba- Monday, September 2nd, 2024

The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, H.E Simon Ober Mawut, Monday, held a crucial meeting with Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut to discuss pressing judicial matters within the state. The meeting centered on two significant issues that require immediate attention and action such as expedition of the case involving the late Abuk Lual, a 5 year old child who was defiled, murdered and dumped into a pit latrine, by a Darfurian trader in Aweil in June 2022. The Governor emphasized the importance of swift justice in this matter, underscoring the need for the judiciary to prioritize and fast-track the case. This, he argued, would not only ensure justice for the family of the deceased but also uphold the rule of law and maintain public trust in the legal system.

The governor lobbied the Chief Justice to deploy mobile courts to Northern Bahr el Ghazal State to help reduce the growing number of individuals on remand and overcrowding in Aweil Main Prison. Governor Ober highlighted the urgent need for mobile courts to address these issues. He expressed concern over the congestion in the prison, which he witnessed firsthand during a recent visit. During this visit, the Governor took immediate action by ordering the release of more than 30 juveniles who were detained on petty crimes, an effort aimed at easing the overcrowding situation.

Both leaders agreed that the introduction of mobile courts would be instrumental in delivering timely justice, particularly for those on remand, and would significantly contribute to decongesting the prison.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to working closely together to implement these solutions, thereby strengthening the judicial system in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State and ensuring that justice is both swift and accessible to all.
