"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called Children of God." Matthew 5:9

The saying "the worst prison in the world is a home without peace" highlights how a troubled home life can feel as confining and painful as any physical prison. A home is meant to be a place of comfort, love, and security. When it becomes a place of conflict, stress, or emotional pain, it can lead to a feeling of entrapment, where individuals feel unable to escape tension, fear, or sadness. Just as a prison restricts physical freedom, a home without peace can restrict emotional freedom and personal well-being, making it hard to find true happiness or fulfillment.

Public Service Announcement: Protecting Your Right to Vote in South Sudan’s 2026 Elections

Citizens of South Sudan,

As we approach the 2026 elections, it’s crucial to remember that voting is both a right and a responsibility. Every eligible citizen has the right to vote freely, safely, and without intimidation or interference. Here’s what you should know about your rights as a voter:

1. Right to Vote Freely: No one should try to influence your vote through threats, bribes, or pressure. Your vote is your voice—cast it according to your own beliefs and values.

2. Right to Information: You have the right to access clear and accurate information about candidates, policies, and election procedures. Be informed so you can make the best choice for your community and country.

3. Right to Privacy: Your vote is private. No one has the right to see how you vote or to pressure you to reveal your choices.

4. Right to Safe Voting Access: Polling stations should be accessible and safe. If you face any threats or intimidation, report it to the authorities immediately. Every citizen deserves a secure environment to cast their vote.

5. Right to Assistance: If you need help with reading or understanding the ballot, assistance is available. Poll workers are trained to support voters with disabilities, language barriers, or other needs.

Let’s stand together to make this election fair, free, and peaceful. Exercise your right to vote and let your voice be heard for a stronger South Sudan.

📢 Empowering Evangelism Training for Listener Group Leaders! 🙏✨

We are thrilled to share the success of a transformative 3-day evangelism training held for our listener group leaders! 🎉 Attended by 18 leaders from Tonj North, Tonj East, Tonj South, Maloupec, and Mapel, the training included 5 women and 13 men dedicated to spreading the Gospel. This enriching experience aimed to equip each leader with the skills to share the message of Christ with their small groups upon their return.

The training was led by MET Church from the USA, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Every Village organization for facilitating this impactful connection. Through the curriculum "Be1 and Make1," our leaders are now better prepared for disciple-making, and we are excited to see the fruits of their efforts in their communities.

Let’s encourage these leaders as they go forth to make more disciples! 📖🙏

Faith Over Fear

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." — Hebrews 11:1

Faith is trusting in God's promises even when we can’t see the full picture. It’s easy to have doubts when life feels uncertain or when challenges seem overwhelming. Yet, in those moments, faith reminds us that God’s plan is bigger than our struggles.

Today, let’s place our worries in His hands. Faith doesn’t promise an easy path, but it assures us that we are never alone. Whatever you’re facing, trust that God is at work behind the scenes, guiding, providing, and holding you close. Lean into His love and find peace in knowing He’s got this!

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our constant source of hope and strength. We ask that You increase our faith today, especially in areas where we may be struggling to trust. Help us to place our fears and doubts in Your hands and rest in the assurance that You are in control. Guide our hearts to walk in confidence, knowing You are with us every step of the way. May our lives be a reflection of Your love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

The role of the church in a fragile peace is profound and essential, as it serves as a pillar of stability, hope, and moral guidance. In times of fragile peace, when communities are healing from past conflicts and tensions remain high, the church stands as a trusted institution capable of fostering reconciliation and unity.

1. Promoting Reconciliation and Forgiveness: The church encourages forgiveness and reconciliation as central tenets of its faith. By actively promoting dialogue and understanding, church leaders help individuals and communities address grievances and build bridges across divides, fostering a culture of peace and empathy.

2. Providing Moral Guidance and Accountability: The church provides moral direction, upholding values such as justice, compassion, and respect for human dignity. In situations where governance is weak, the church can serve as an ethical voice, advocating for fair treatment, accountability, and human rights for all citizens.

3. Offering Trauma Healing and Counseling: In the aftermath of conflict, many people suffer from trauma and grief. The church, through pastoral care and community support programs, can provide emotional and psychological support. By addressing the wounds of the past, the church helps individuals heal and reduces the likelihood of future conflicts.

4. Building Community Resilience: The church’s ability to bring people together across social, ethnic, or political lines strengthens community resilience. Through joint projects, such as peace workshops, vocational training, and community service, the church fosters unity and cooperation, helping communities stand strong against forces that may otherwise destabilize the peace.

5. Advocating for Justice and Peace: The church often has the platform and moral authority to speak out against injustices, advocating for policies and practices that promote peace and equitable development. By championing social justice and peaceful coexistence, the church can influence both policymakers and local leaders to uphold peace agreements and support community welfare.

6. Promoting Spiritual Renewal and Hope: In fragile times, the church provides spiritual guidance, reminding people of the hope that faith offers. By helping people find meaning and purpose beyond their struggles, the church instills hope for a brighter, peaceful future.

In fragile peace situations, the church’s role is to be a steady, compassionate, and visionary force. By remaining active in promoting forgiveness, providing care, and advocating for justice, the church helps pave the way toward a sustainable and genuine peace for all.

**Prayer for Strength and Protection for the Global Media**

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in humble prayer, lifting up the men and women who dedicate their lives to speaking truth, sharing knowledge, and shining light in places of darkness. We ask for Your strength and protection over all those in the global media, especially those facing persecution in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. Lord, grant them courage to stand firm, even in the face of threats and hardships.

In a world where truth is challenged, we pray that You guard them with Your wisdom, that they may report with integrity and compassion. May their voices inspire hope, justice, and understanding among communities.

Father, we ask for Your hand over the families of these journalists, writers, and broadcasters. Strengthen their hearts, give them courage to support their loved ones, and comfort them in times of fear. We pray for the communities they serve to see the truth and embrace it as a force for peace and unity.

May Your light shine upon those who feel discouraged, afraid, or alone. Remind them that You are their refuge, and that Your justice is ever faithful. Lord, be their shield and their guide.

We ask this in Your Holy Name, Amen.

Sermon: Finding Strength in God Through Life’s Storms

Good morning, friends. Today, let’s reflect on how God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness, as Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Life brings storms—financial struggles, health challenges, conflicts with loved ones. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but God calls us to trust Him in the midst of these challenges. Take, for example, Peter walking on water in Matthew 14. When Peter’s eyes were on Jesus, he walked on water! But when he focused on the storm around him, he began to sink. How often do we find ourselves sinking because we lose sight of Jesus?

In our own lives, there are times we feel powerless. Imagine a single mother working long hours to provide for her family. She might feel the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet each day, by God's grace, she finds the strength to continue, putting her trust in Him. She’s living out Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Even when it feels like the storm is too much, remember that God is with us, inviting us to keep our eyes on Him, trusting that He is our anchor and strength. With faith in His promises, we can face any storm and find peace. Let’s lean on Him together, for His power is always greater than our weakness. Amen.

With Association for Media Development In South Sudan

AMDISS Kickstarts Two-Day Induction Workshop in Wau

Wau, South Sudan — The Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS) has launched a two-day induction workshop in Wau, drawing 30 participants, including station managers and news editors, from seven media houses across the Greater Bahr El Ghazal region. The workshop aims to enhance journalistic standards and build the capacity of media professionals to address key national issues.

Participants are engaging in discussions on critical topics such as the role of media before, during, and after elections, gender-responsive reporting, conflict-sensitive journalism, countering hate speech, and fact-checking.

In his remarks, Hon. Moyiga Nduru, the Commissioner of Access to Information, urged journalists to adopt inclusive reporting practices. He emphasized the need for sensitivity in covering stories about people with disabilities, such as the deaf, blind, and those with mobility impairments.

Additionally, Hon. Samuel Morris, the State Minister of Information for Western Bahr El Ghazal, made a strong appeal to journalists, urging them to practice responsible journalism. He emphasized that journalists have a duty to serve the needs of the people through accurate and ethical reporting, which is essential for the development and unity of the country.

This workshop is part of AMDISS’s ongoing efforts with support from UNESCO to strengthen the role of the media in peacebuilding and development, equipping journalists to provide accurate, balanced, and responsible reporting during crucial national events such as elections.
