It's tough to put words to the impact Akira Toriyama had on my life. I was a quiet child who found solace in the world he created, Dragon Ball helped me form my first friendships, friends with whom I (very awkwardly, and much to the amusement of others) recreated scenes of the show on the schoolyard. These reenactments were the foundation of my flair for the dramatics, a trait that would put me on the path I walk to this day. Though it is but one of the many building blocks that made me who I am, without Dragon Ball, I would surely not be who I am now. Friendships, a career and so much more all started with a lil kid believing he could share his energy by stretching out his arms to the sky.
