Chad: Parliament Ratifies 12 Bilateral Air Agreements to Strengthen Connectivity and Its Sub-Regional Hub Ambition

Meeting in plenary session on 22 December 2025, Chad’s National Assembly overwhelmingly adopted the bill ratifying twelve bilateral air services agreements. The text was approved unanimously by all votes cast, with 164 in favor, none against and no abstentions, reflecting broad political consensus on the strategic importance of civil aviation for the country.

A Strategy for Opening Up and Economic Growth

Presented and defended by the Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and National Meteorology, Fatima Goukouni Weddeye, the bill is part of a broader vision aimed at improving Chad’s connectivity, reducing the isolation of certain regions and supporting socio-economic development. Tchad : le Parlement ratifie 12 accords aériens bilatéraux pour renforcer la connectivité et l’ambition de hub sous-régional

Réunie en séance plénière le 22 décembre 2025, l’Assemblée nationale du Tchad a adopté à une très large majorité le projet de loi portant ratification de douze accords bilatéraux de services aériens. Le texte a été approuvé à l’unanimité des suffrages exprimés, avec 164 voix pour, aucune contre et aucune abstention, traduisant un consensus politique autour de l’enjeu stratégique que représente l’aviation civile pour le pays.

Une stratégie de désenclavement et de croissance

Présenté et défendu par la ministre des Transports, de l’Aviation civile et de la Météorologie nationale, Fatima Goukouni Weddeye, le projet de loi s’inscrit dans une vision globale visant à améliorer la connectivité du Tchad, réduire l’isolement de certaines régions et soutenir le développement socio-économique.
