Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Abass Bundu has announced that the March 1st, 2024, proposed increase of toll gate charges will be put on hold indefinitely for detailed study of the agreement by members of parliament.

Outcome of the Stakeholders Engagements for the Proposed Toll gates Tarrif's Increase in Parliament.
Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Abass Bundu says the Wellington-Masiaka Road Agreement between the Government and the China Railway Seventh Group was ratified by Parliament in 2016 and it is valid.
He said the role of Parliament is to see if the proposed tariffs increment conforms with the agreement. He also said that the Parliament would do due diligence for the concerns of the general public.
He said "Our President is currently on a State Visit to China and we don't want any impression to be given by anyone that the government of Sierra Leone reneges on agreements,".
The debate by Hon. Members on the Proposed Tarrif is expected to hold on Thursday 29th of February, 2024 in the house of parliament.

Project and Network launch in Freetown!
The Deomcracy Movement Network (Demnet) Sierra Leone launches a project titled: "Reducing Electoral Violence through Civic Education in Sierra Leone's 2023 Elections" with support from of Massachusetts (UMASS) , Boston, Massachusetts.
The chapter is made up of Civil society leaders and media practitioners who were selected for rigorous training conducted in Nairobi, Kenya through the support of the United States Government. Information For All Sierra Leone serves as the lead organization for the project's implementation for a peaceful electioneering process in the June 24th of 2023 in Sierra Leone.

We must unite in the fight against youth unemployment and uplift the marginalized, for when we invest in the potential of every individual, we contribute to the growth and prosperity of our society.

The Country Director of Restless Development Sierra Leone Mr. Garura believes that young people need to be given opportunities to prove themselves if at all we mean to empower them as he believes that young people should create and lead the solutions/changes that they want see in their communities. He discouraged the notion that young people is too young to lead and must be given the solutions and guidance to execute in transforming their communities with creativity and innovation.
