Rosseta Sylvia Dumbuya Crowned Miss EcoFest 2024

Rosseta Sylvia Dumbuya has been crowned the Miss EcoFest 2024.

12 beauty queens contended for one crown and the winner took home NLe50,000 plus a fully paid round trip to Dubai.

Sasah Saran Koroma clinched the second position and took home NLe20,000, while Alimatu Sylvia Conteh took the 3rd position and took home NLe10,000 respectively.

CEO of ECOFEST, Mrs. Hawa Turay said: "She said the young women captivated the judges with their charisma, intelligence, and dedication to making a difference. They embody the true spirit of ECOFEST —celebrating culture, creativity, and empowerment".

One of Sierra Leone’s hottest singers, James Junior Kaisama now known as the sensational Incredible JJ, is all set to rock the stage at the ECOFEST 2024 event currently ongoing at the Africell Beach Front on Lumley Beach.

Incredible JJ who emerged into the spotlight in recent weeks, on a clear manifestation of ask and you shall receive, when he released a song requesting Freetownians to be hospitable on his arrival, has been to Freetown and according to him, the experience had been stupendously amazing.

JJ, a resident of Kenema had been given a star’s treatment by Kings Empire who lodged him at their hotel with a meeting with the CEO himself Valentine King on the next day.

JJ was then whisked off to be treated to a meet and chill with the CEO of Cribs international Sho Cole along with other prominent personalities, dubbed the big-wigs of Sierra Leone entertainment scene.

Amidst hot international acts rocking the ECOFEST 2024 event currently ongoing at the Africell Beach Front on Lumley Beach, admirable local entertainers in the likes of Benjamin Menelik George, known professionally as Drizilik, are set to warm the stage.

Born in April 1994, Drizilik is a Sierra Leonean rapper, singer and songwriter from Freetown. He was born in Freetown and grew up in the Soja Tong neighbourhood.
As a child, Drizilik would play football and bare-hand tennis with friends. Growing up, he would listen to hip hop and R&B music.

He began rapping in English but now raps in Krio in order to engage with his immediate Sierra Leonean audience. He blends the genres of hip hop, afrobeat and indigenous ‘bubu’ sound. He originally rose to fame in Sierra Leone in 2015 after the release of his single ‘Pop Collar’.

Born on 16th December, 1999, the Ghanaian R&B and afro-fusion singer in 2019 released her first single titled: ‘Love is Pretty’, which paved the way for another single, ‘Never Like This’. In August 2020, the ‘Forever’ song from her five-track EP Seed enjoyed airplay and led the charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. Gyakie's father is Nana Acheampong.

Gyakie was raised in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She graduated from T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Kumasi and completed her undergraduate studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where she majored in international business.

Chike is an award-winning Nigerian singer, songwriter, actor and brand ambassador. He first gained recognition in 2015 when he participated on the Nigerian music talent reality show. Chike's talent and charisma on the show earned him a large following and set a stage for his successful career in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

ECOFEST 2024 is on right now at the Africell Beach Front on Lumley Beach and it will feature Nigerian comedian, content creator, actor and skitmaker, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, known as Mr Funny or Oga Sabinus

Born in January 30, 1995, Sabinus had his early education in Port Harcourt and went on to acquire his Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the University of Port Harcourt.

Mr Funny's career started in 2015 but he began to see mainstream success in 2019. He was nominated in the 2021 maiden edition of The Humor Awards Academy alongside fellow comedian Basketmouth. He discovered his comedy talent at a young age and began actively doing comedy skits while he was in university.

This was in 2015 during a particular School Student Union week. Mr Funny decided to pursue his career further by uploading various comedy skits on his social media handles, especially Instagram.

Brain Jotter, born on February 5, 1996, is a renowned Nigerian comedian, content creator and philanthropist. His career took off during his college years, performing at various live comedy shows across Nigeria. In 2020, he achieved a breakthrough by posting short comedic skits on Instagram, quickly gaining millions of followers.
