Dear friends, valued sponsors, and all the dazzling women vying for the Miss Central crown.

It is with deep regret that we announce the postponement of the Miss Central Beauty Pageant, originally scheduled for December 26, 2023. We understand this news may come as a disappointment, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

This decision was not taken lightly. As you know, our nation is currently facing security concerns and a curfew has been implemented. The safety and well-being of our contestants, judges, sponsors, and audience remain our top priority. After careful consideration, we believe that postponing the event to a later date is the most responsible course of action.

Therefore, we are thrilled to announce that the Miss Central Beauty Pageant will now be held in March/April 2024. This provides us with valuable time to ensure a safe and spectacular event that truly celebrates the beauty, intellect, and talent of our outstanding contestants.

We understand that you may have questions and concerns about the postponement. We will be sending out further information in the coming weeks regarding ticket validity, rescheduling auditions, and other relevant details.

In the meantime, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our dedicated team, supportive sponsors, and all the phenomenal women who have expressed interest in competing in Miss Central. Your passion and commitment inspire us, and we are confident that the wait will only make the event even more dazzling and unforgettable.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to celebrating with you in March/April 2024.
We hope this postponement will allow for a brighter and more celebrated Miss Central event in March/April 2024.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude as I have been crowned as your MISS FREETOWN.

This journey has been a roller-coaster of emotions, filled with challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable moments. From the moment I decided to step onto that stage, I was fueled by a passion to make a difference and represent my Central Community with grace and purpose.

To my family, friends and Loved ones, your unwavering support has been my guiding light throughout this entire journey. Your belief in me has lifted me up when I doubted myself, and your encouragement has propelled me forward with unwavering determination. Thank you for being my pillars of strength and love. To my manager I want to say a big thank you for believing in me, my coach, my costume designer’s and makeup designer (Sidiq Closet, Zain Fashion House and Dazzy Makeover) you guys where incredible in what you do, I want to say a big thank you.

To my fellow contestants, each of you has inspired me with your intelligence, talent, and unwavering determination. You have shown me the true meaning of sisterhood, and I am so grateful for the friendships we have formed along the way.

To the organizers of this pageant, thank you for creating a platform where women can showcase their talents, advocate for their causes, and inspire others. Your dedication to empowering young women is truly remarkable.

And most importantly, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the judges for recognizing my potential and bestowing this incredible honor upon me. I promise to carry the title of MISS FREETOWN with pride and responsibility, using my voice to amplify the voices of those who need to be heard.

This victory is not just mine alone; it belongs to every woman who has dared to dream big, who has fought for their place in the world, and who has never given up on their aspirations.

𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐊. 𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐁𝐎 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐄

World Mental Health Day is observed on 10th October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.

The theme for World Mental Health Day in 2023 is “𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙇 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝙇𝙏𝙃 𝙄𝙎 𝘼 𝙐𝙉𝙄𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙎𝘼𝙇 𝙃𝙐𝙈𝘼𝙉 𝙍𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏” which serves as a reminder to everyone on the planet to raise awareness, advance understanding, and encourage action that will protect and advance everyone's right to mental health.

Today, the CENTRAL COMMUNITY representative for the 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐓 celebrated with kids who are mentally challenged. She conveyed a positive message by letting them know that they are not alone when facing overwhelming emotions and that everyone has mental health.
She encouraged them to prioritize their own mental well-being by exercising, eating healthy meals, or doing any other activities that make them feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Sarafina visited the Murray Town Wharf Community and encouraged the youths to avoid using drugs. She also had the chance to learn about some of the stigmas that most of these youths had experienced. Where most of them had faced child abuse, trauma or neglected, social isolation or loneliness, experiencing discrimination in their communities, loosing someone close to them and having a long-term health condition. These are some of the things she learned on her visit to this youth in Murray Town.

She delivered a heartfelt tribute to the youths, stating that mental health is an invisible force that controls our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and the way we react or respond to situations. Stress and anxiety often come from too much expectation and too much ambition. When that expectation or ambition is not fulfilled, we experience frustration. She advises young people to lower their expectations from those who often make big promises to them and not allow peer pressure to hinder them from doing things that will make them happy.

𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔 who will be contesting for the 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗧 extends her profound love and thanks to the management of 𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗔 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗘 for the opportunity given to her to celebrate with the kids on 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and she promised to visit them again and inform them that she will be contesting for the 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 that they should keep her in their prayers.
