The Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning Dr. Turad Senesie has announced that the President Julius Maada Bio led Government of Sierra Leone is working assiduously towards the establishment of a Micro-City that will be inhabited by the current crop of Commercial Motorbikes and Tricycle Riders (Okada and Kekeh Riders).

The Minister made this disclosure on Tuesday March 28 2023 during an outreach meeting held at the Head Office of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bikes Riders Union at Up Gun in Freetown.

The meeting was swamped by hundreds of commercial motorbikes union executive members from various parks and districts in the Western Area Region, who had converged and invited the Minister to sensitize the general membership of over one million one hundred thousand registered riders through the Union in respect of the land raffle for Okada/Kekeh Riders.

Dr. Turad Senesie told the riders that they were close to the heart of the President, who values their struggles and partnership in national development.

“We have secured and properly planned plots of State Land to be allocated to Okada/Kekeh Riders through the land raffle model as a first step towards the establishment of an Okada/Kekeh Micro-City,” the Minister disclosed, adding that the State will ensure the identified community is well demarcated and planned with all basic social amenities including roads, schools, hospital and recreational centers.

He called on the riders to register in their numbers to participate in the most transparent, fair and credible raffle that will make them become land owners in Sierra Leone.

The Minister reminded the audience that it was now time for the riders to benefit from the national cake after successfully giving lands to the security sector, medical practitioners, teachers/lecturers, journalists, civil servants and more through the land raffle model.

This is Paul Alexander. He is one of the last people to live in an Iron Lung. He was diagnosed with Polio at the age of 6 which lead to paralysis from the neck down.

The machine is made to compress and depress the chest. He recently turned 74 and still relies on the Iron Lung to keep him alive.

Coach John Keister comments on musa Tumbo !!!. Today is one day that makes me sad and cried not just as a Coach , but as a dad who have kids of my own.

Leading lions in 2019 and winning the league with the contributions of this boy and the Potential he has to be one off the best , trying to give him structures and boundaries in an environment that we are been judged by the masses who thought differently,. In the last two days things have turn out for the worst.

An Elephant’s pregnancy is for the duration of 22months. The longest among Mammals.

It is almost impossible for elephants to birth twins. This is because mothers rarely have enough milk to feed their babies (calves). However, it is possible but both rarely survives.

A female elephants have 4-5 (most) babies during their life time.

Normally, without being pregnant, an elephant lie to sleep only for 3-4hours a day due to their weights getting up.

A pregnant elephant sleeps while standing most of the time; though they do not sleep deep.

A pregnant elephant feeds for around 20hours a days against their 18 hours of feeding while not pregnant—And while they approached their 20th months of pregnancy, they begin to starve themselves so they can loose weight. This practice is a natural routine for them to be able to give birth easily.

“I got pregnant nine years ago while dating my current husband and then the issue of marriage came up.

I wasn’t working then. He told my family and I that he doesn’t want a court marriage for no reason.

My parents tried talking to him, I cried and begged him severally to legalize his marriage with me but he stood his grounds not to wed me in a court.

I involved his family members to help me beg him but they said, he’s old enough to make his decisions.

He even refused to do a white wedding either because my church requested for a court certificate, so we ended up doing only traditional marriage.

I later got tired and gave up on the matter. I was hurt and broken but I resolved to marry him like that just to save myself and my family the shame of having a baby outside wedlock.

My dad was angry and disappointed in him but he didn’t care and because of that my dad vowed to see me a successful and independent woman with or without him.

After I gave birth to my baby, my dad helped me secure a job with a
multinational company and things started to turn around for me.

I could now take care of myself and secure a future.

Though I married my husband but I never forgave him from my heart and it made me not to do anything in my husband’s name.

We currently have three kids together but all my properties are in the name of my children. I never used him as my next of kin either.

Just last month my company decided to transfer me to a branch in Texas and the company is willing to pay for my entire family to relocate with me.

My husband’s business is not doing too well and he’s willing to relocate also but we have no legal certificate to show that we are married.

Now he wants us to go to the court to legalize our marriage and I have said “No”

My dad has threatened to disown me if I ever go with him to court.

He’s been tagging me everywhere as a bad wife who is not loyal to her husband, spoiling my family also.

His family members have been calling me trying to persuade me.

What will I do now?

Cats!

Cats are widely considered as one of the best pet in the world.

They are known for their meekness and incomparable friendliness and loyalty.

However, these facts are what some do not know about cats.

Cat sleeps up to 16 hours daily.
They have 30 teeth. The male cat is called Tom, while the female is called queen.

Without the presence of human, a cat never “meow” . The “meow” sound is only made for human not for other cats.

A single cat have 244 different bones—more than human (204).

A bigger version of a cat is the exact look of a tiger.

While you keep both a dog and cat as pet, a dog will quickly submit to you as it owner while a cat sees you as an equal.

A cat has a natural ability to dispose their waste. This is the special character to avoid being tracked.

Cat also can hiss. They imitate the snakes..
And if thrown from an high-rise building, it will survive due to its ability to reach terminal velocity and will land on its feets. Also, thanks to its impressive reflex.

They live up to 20-21 years.

Six people, among them three children, have died in two separate incidents in Freetown after a heavy rainfall on Saturday night into this morning.

According to the Director of Relief and Response at the National Disaster Agency, Sinneh Mansaray, a wall collapsed on a house in a community at the back of Spur Loop killing four. Not too far away from the same mountain slope, another wall fell on a tin shack behind Country Lodge killing two.
