The President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, will be attending a high-level Renewable Energy and Food Security Investment Roundtable at the OPEC Fund Headquarters in Vienna, Austria on Monday, June 24, 2024.

This event, organized in partnership with the Republic of Sierra Leone through the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Food Security (PI-CREF), will take place during the OPEC Fund's 2024 Development Forum. President Bio will co-chair the roundtable with OPEC Fund's President, Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, and the event will be moderated by Hon. Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, Chairman of PI-CREF.

The aim of the roundtable is to bring together investors and stakeholders to support the country's energy sector expansion, renewable energy integration, and regulatory frameworks to attract investments. Presentations on strategic opportunities for Renewable Energy and Agricultural Investments will be followed by a Question-and-Answer session. Sierra Leone will also be represented by Minister of Finance, Mr. Sheku A.F. Bangura, Deputy Minister of Energy, Dr. Eldred Tunde Taylor, and Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka, who will present on key projects and programs in their respective ministries.

The OPEC Fund is holding its 24th Development Forum in Vienna, Austria under the theme, "Collaborate for Impact."
