(vsi glasbeniki, pozor):
A banjo player was on the phone with his agent, complaining that he hadn't had a gig in a while. His agent tells him, "Listen, there aren't any gigs out there, but I found you something. I got you a job bagging lions."

The banjo player asks, "What does that have to do with getting me gigs?”

The agent responds, "Look, the job pays $100.00 for each lion you bag. That’s more than I can get you for playing."

At this point the banjo player is desperate enough to take anything, so he hangs up and flies to Africa. Not wanting to miss any practice time he takes his banjo with him while looking for the lions.

He notices a lion coming toward him and the only thing he can think to do is play his banjo. He starts to play and notices that the lion relaxes and soon goes to sleep.

He bags the lion
and throws him in the back
of his truck.

He goes a little further and sees another lion. Again he plays a song, and again the lion falls asleep. This goes on all afternoon. The banjo player has about 99 lions in his truck and is about to call it a day when he sees another.

He thinks, "What the heck, one more won't hurt." He starts to play his banjo and notices that the lion is not paying any attention to him. He starts to play louder, but the lion starts running toward him.

The banjo player starts to play faster and faster but the lion keeps coming toward him. The lion jumps on the banjo player and eats him.

One of the lions on the truck turns to another lion and says, "I told you that when he gets to the deaf one the gig
would be over.”

In this animated video made by the awesome Mark Newman, you are going to learn all you need to know about the Circle of Fifths. The trainer demonstrates some of its many uses in music composition.

"The Circle of Fifths is a visual representation of the relationships between the 12 tones of the chromatic scale. It was invented by the Greek philosopher Pythagoras and is so called as it takes the form of a circle around which each of the 12 tones are laid out. As you move around the circle in a clockwise direction, the next tone you encounter will be a 5th above the tone before it.

The Circle of Fifths lies at the very foundation of western music theory and is therefore extremely useful as you can refer to it to help you find out things like, what key you are in. If you are in a major key it helps you find the relative minor key and visa versa. It tells you which chords are available in which key. It can even help you to transpose your music into a different key and move between keys within a song." (source : Mark Newman)
