This upcoming crossover between Superman and Spider-Man goes beyond just two heroes meeting.

Many of their themes overlap (we don’t just mean suit colours) and, in some ways, they share parallel journeys even across the universes of DC and Marvel!

Homaging the iconic heroes’ very first meeting, this cover to Crimson Star: Book Two sees the still-unminted hero facing off against the legendary Seraphim (from Jupiter the Last God).

This particular concept (original in the comments) was conceived due to penciller Collin Yap’s uncanny ability to capture the spirit of classic covers. In-keeping with the ‘80s look, inker Azridjokoloro jumped on board with his dynamic brushstrokes, and colourist Pavith C wrapped it all up with the vibrant tones he’s known for.
