The BBC magazine Asian Edition World Adventure Young Writers National Championship Award Ceremony was successfully concluded yesterday at the @nlbsingapore . The participating stories and non-fiction articles chose one of the following themes:
Science Fiction/Fantasy:
Imagine what the future of Singapore would be like. What kinds of technological and sustainable development innovations can you imagine?
Historical Fiction:
Describe the life of a Singaporean on a certain day in the past. What sights, sounds, and scenes did you see and experience around you?
Creative Non-Fiction:
Explore Singapore through the lens of science, history, or nature. You can write about a distinguished Singaporean scientist, the food history of your favorite dish, or the interesting flora and fauna of our country.
Each young writer's story is unique, reflecting the creator's imagination, observation of the world, and sensitivity to details. At this Singapore Young Writers Award Ceremony, we got a glimpse of how they integrated these elements to create impressive works.
The confidence and joy in the smiles of the children as they went on stage to receive their certificates mean everything.
We hope that next year, more children will participate, more sponsors will enable more children to win awards, and continue the passion for writing.
Thank you to every participating child, parent, teacher, and sponsor.
Join us this weekend, have fun at Margaret Market.

The last day of Chinese New Year, also known as the Lantern Festival, falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month. This marks the end of the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) celebrations. The Lantern Festival features various activities such as lighting and admiring lanterns, eating tangyuan (glutinous rice balls), and solving lantern riddles.
Lantern Festival is associated with love and matchmaking in some parts of China, where young people used to go out to view lanterns and guess lantern riddles, creating an opportunity for socializing between genders.
