✨🌈Let's ACE the ACES workflow! If you're working with VFX, then your colorist would appreciate it if you can give them back the CGI as if it was shot from the camera, in the same colorspace, so they can do a simple swap on their end! And if they are a proper colorist on a VFX project, they would be working in ACES, for sure.

🎥In this post, we explain the general ACES VFX workflow from plating the footage into image sequences and placing your CGI elements into your shot. This is for a Nuke/Resolve, and there's great news for non-nuke users...

🌟Most recently (finally!) After Effects supports ACES color management. It's a significant gesture in the right direction, and we can expect to see the same in Premiere... soon?

Should you bend over backward to please clients, or should you stand your ground to meet project demands?😯

As part of our work on creative projects for our clients, we receive input from them on what they need or want. While that is important, we must not get carried away with "wants" and focus on the needs of the project. By asking the right questions, we help to align all parties and make sure we all understand what the project needs. It's a critical step in delivering a successful project and keeping everyone satisfied. 😊

👉️Which should we prioritize more, clients’ wants or project needs? Watch to find out!

During our visit to CafeVFX, we found kindred spirits in a team of highly skilled artists dedicated to delivering outstanding work for advertising agencies.

And get this, our project tracking tools are so similar it's almost scary. Our tools are so similar, we joked about teaming up and maybe making some magic together. Now, we're actively look for such opportunities!

Speaking of magic, Japan is all about co-producing ads and music videos with different studios and production houses as their projects often require mixed media styles.

We think Singapore could benefit from more of that collaborative spirit. So on that note, if you're in the area and you'd like to create something cool together, give us a shout!

We swung by Onesal and met the man himself, Nahuel, who turned out to be just as cool as his studio's work. It was reassuring to learn that even the most reputable creative studios encounter comparable challenges. We had a great chat in their beautifully minimal office, tucked away in a unique neighborhood.

It was a reminder that real connections and authentic conversations are what make creative entrepreneurship work, just like the one we had with Nahuel. We're taking that lesson with us as we aim to diversify our portfolio this year.

Swipe to the end to see our fanboy moment and accidental video wefie. Pardon us. 😂

The time and effort you spent on a project do not equate to the value of your creative services. "Wait whutttt?" 🤔

Working hard to produce and create is noteworthy, but the value of our creative services is not tied to how much effort we put into a project. Rather, it is our ability to identify and solve problems for our clients.

✏️“Real artists don’t talk Money. We talk Craft!”

It’s graduation year at art school. Classmates believe that focusing solely on their craft will lead to success, and the money will follow. Is that true?

Well, creative work is only sustainable if we grasp its true value, and engage in open and honest discussions about monetary compensation. Comment if you agree/disagree!

Also, I'm just thinking should organize a portfolio review session too! Yay, nay?

A Look into our Lookdev! We grounded our film in a stop-motion world, and to stay true to its aesthetics, we represented dust clouds with cotton balls, and construction cranes with ice-cream stick models!

The hand-modeled nature of clay stop-motion brings us back to our imaginative childhood, and highlights the handmade nature of our craft.

We work with video production studios who pay a lot of attention to getting as much detail as possible in their footage for post-production flexibility. So we want to keep all that data intact when we deliver back our VFX work.

That's why we always work on RAW for all VFX productions; A minor upfront inconvenience that provides unparalleled future flexibility.

Learn why it's always worth working on the RAW Log footage instead of the graded footage in a professional VFX environment.
