Throwback to our SG Enable's sharing at their recent opening house of Enabling Village 2.0. We shared about — our co-creation workshop's initiative that empowers Singapore’s creatives, including persons with disabilities, to co-create, collaborate, and tell their stories through .

It was a privilege to share our journey, the impact of AI as an equaliser, and how creativity can foster inclusion, confidence, and collaboration across abilities.

Thank you to SG Enable and everyone who joined for the meaningful conversations — together, we can continue building a more inclusive and empowered creative community.

The filmmaking landscape is shifting fast, and the latest moves from Hengdian World Studios—often called "China's Hollywood"—are a great indicator of how is transforming the global industry.

As we head into 2026, the year analysts predict AI filmmaking goes mainstream, it is no longer about if we should use AI, but how we integrate it into our standard infrastructure. Just look at the numbers: China’s "micro-drama" market hit nearly $7 billion last year, already surpassing traditional film!

This industrial-scale revolution is real and this is what it could mean for us in Singapore too:

- Radical Speed & Cost Efficiency: In Hengdian, AI is slashing production costs by 60%. Tasks that took teams weeks—like epic battle sequences or script evaluations—now take hours. For us to compete globally, we must use AI to maximize our lean budgets.

- The Micro-Content Explosion: Vertical, mobile-first "micro-dramas" are a perfect match for AI’s strengths (generating backgrounds, VFX, and rapid iterations). This is a high-speed entry point for local talent to reach the world.

- Infrastructure as the Real Edge: It’s not just about the software; it’s about the ecosystem—virtual stages, high-speed networks, and GPU clusters. To stay a media hub, Singapore needs to invest in the "pipes" that support AI workflows at scale.

- AI Protecting Creators: With over 150,000 short dramas produced, you can’t track copyright manually anymore. AI is being used to "fingerprint" and protect IP. Singapore has a huge opportunity to lead the way in these governance frameworks.

Even with AI generating entire armies and environments, the human touch is still the soul of the story. Subtle emotions and final creative judgments still need us.

The question is: Are we going to be passive users, or will we be the strategic architects of this new era?

They say if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

In 2025, Creativesatwork proved that in a fast-moving landscape, a community that learns together accelerates together.

This year wasn’t just about our own milestones—it was about the wins of our freelancers, the impact of our CoCreate workshops for PWDs, and the global insights we brought back from Dubai to Seoul to China.

We moved from chasing records to cultivating connections that matter.

Read an article from Jayce Tham on the year we dived into original GenAI IP creation, vertical microdramas, and global frontiers.

As the year winds down, it is timely for me to reflect on the journey that we at CreativesAtWork has taken in 2025. This year, our focus shifted from simply "chasing records" to something much deeper: cultivating meaningful connections—locally and globally—and ensuring our creative output contri...

This recent feature on the Indonesian startup YukYuk is a perfect case study for a shift I have been talking about: the emergence of the One-Man Agency.

The founder is building a creative platform almost entirely through agents—handling everything from coding to marketing.

The Message is clear:

- Scale Without the Overhead: We are moving into an era where a single freelancer, powered by AI, can deliver the output of a full-service agency. You do not need a massive team anymore; you need a "team" of AI agents.

- From Ex*****on to Curation: As AI takes over the "technical heavy lifting" (editing, generating, formatting), our value as creators shifts. It is no longer about how fast you can use a tool, but how well you can direct the strategy and the vision.

- Asset vs. Cost: Using AI to automate your operations isn't an expense—it’s an asset. It allows you to stay small, stay lean, and compete with the big players.

If you are a creative freelancer in Singapore feeling capped by your own hours, you need to stop thinking like a "pair of hands" and start thinking like a system architect. The goal is to build an AI-native operation that works while you sleep.

Are you ready to transition from a solo freelancer to a one-man agency? Let’s talk about how to build your AI-powered "co-founder" today!

What sets YukYuk apart is how it is built. The entire startup runs on AI, from product development to marketing and customer engagement

Christmas was busy (as always), but we are grateful.

To our freelancers who showed up, stayed late, and delivered anyway, thank you.
And to our clients who believed in us (again), we appreciate you more than kopi on a long night.

Also yes, Auntie Jayce did fly out of a helicopter.
Long story.

❤️❤️
Merry Christmas from CreativesAtWork

We're throwing back to the fantastic Annual Co-operative Leaders' Conference (ACLC 2025), organized by the National Co-operative Federation (), where we were honored to share our insights in Shenzhen in October!

Honestly, beyond the presentation, the most meaningful part was engaging in deep conversations with the Co-op leaders. It was a powerful, real-world demonstration of the "we-first" mindset in action—a shared commitment to using technology for community benefit.

Our sharing focused on practical, strategic ways for organizations to tackle technological change and maximize impact.

Here were the four main themes we covered:

- AI is an Asset, Not a Cost. This is a critical mindset shift. You have to change how you look at the budget. AI isn't just an expense; it's a tool that drives value. (E.g., one bank used AI to reduce loan audits from 30 hours to 5 minutes—that's powerful asset efficiency!)

- Continuous Supervision is KEY. As we often say, AI needs human oversight. We loved the analogy from Yi Ming Kau: it is like managing a "smart nine-year-old"—it needs constant training, monitoring, and human guidance for safety and accurate results.

- Augmentation, Not Replacement. AI provides speed and scale; we provide the creativity, critical thinking, and empathy. The goal is always to use AI to make us—the humans —better and more productive.

- It’s Cheaper Than You Think. Seriously, the barrier to entry is low. Implementing a basic, functional AI solution often costs less than $10K. No-code tools have completely democratized access, putting powerful tools into the hands of smaller organizations.

When looking at all the AI opportunities out there, we strongly recommend using a simple Impact-Feasibility Check to figure out what to tackle first. Focus on the initiatives that offer the biggest, easiest win for your community!

Thank you again to the Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) for having CreativesAtWork be part of ACLC 2025!
