Can we rely solely on schools to teach our kids about sexuality?

Fr David Garcia explains why parents should play an integral role in teaching their children about this rather than entirely depending on schools.

'This level of consultation, basically, for me, the starting point is to take ownership of the Church, that the Church belongs to everyone. So it's a great indication that every person has a say in the affairs of the Church, that baptism unites each one of us.'

Itโ€™s just been a few days since the Final Document of the Synod was voted on by members on Saturday 26th Oct. To capture a sensing of the Synod and its outcome - we welcome back Fr Dr Clarence Devadass.

The final day of the Holy Father's Apostolic Visit in Singapore began at Saint Theresa's Home. Beaming, Pope Francis warmly greeted residents at eye-level, thanked the staff present and granted everyone pardon and a blessing.

Without rest, he made his way to the highly anticipated Interreligious Dialogue with Youth at Catholic Junior College. Pope Francis sincerely listened to the concerns of our young people and exchanged words of encouragement while injecting his sense of humour that brought much laughter from the audience of staff, teachers, clergy and students present there.

It was a tearful goodbye as Pope Francis departed for Rome from Singapore Changi Airport. This spoke volumes on how the warm presence of the Holy Father and the message of love he had shared during his 12-day Apostolic Journey to Southeast Asia and Oceania, had certainly touched the hearts of many.

May we continue to keep him in our prayers, as he keeps us in his. Preghiamo per te!

The morning of Day 2 began with Pope Francis receiving a welcome ceremony at the Parliament House, followed by his state address at the University Cultural Centre.

From 12.30pm, the estimated 50,000 people expected to fill National Stadium including clergy, volunteers, students and families streamed in, eager to catch a glimpse of the Holy Father. Beyond the planned programme, the Papal Mass was a time of communion where our hearts were united in prayer with the Vicar of Christ.
