As we look back on the breathtaking journey that was "In Sanga’s Senses: Poetries of the Human Experience," a radiant highlight of the Tamil Language Festival 2024, waves of emotion crash over us once more.

We're transported back to that sacred space where the brilliant minds of Aswani Aswath, Banu Suresh, and Saravanan Shanmugham collided with the timeless verses of Sangam poetry. Their words, like delicate brushstrokes, painted vivid portraits of human experience, each stroke infused with the essence of our five senses.

And who could forget the symphony of Brahmastra multi-ethnic ensemble led by composer-performer Niranjan Pandian? Their melodies were not mere notes but whispers of the soul, echoing the emotions stirred by the poets' verses. Every melody struck a chord within us, resonating long after the music faded.

Under the show direction of Gildon Choo and the artistic direction of Niranjan Pandian, the concert transcended the boundaries of time and space. It became a sacred ritual, a communion of hearts, leaving us breathless, moved to tears by the raw beauty of human expression.

As we pen down these reflections, we're filled with gratitude for having been part of such a profound experience. Though the curtains have fallen on this chapter, the memories linger, etched in our hearts forever.

Stay tuned, for this show will go live again, inviting more souls to experience the transcendental magic of "In Sanga’s Senses" once more, real soon.

This concert is supported by Tamil Language Council and Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee (TLLPC).

I’m grateful to be a part of “In Sanga’s Senses” as it provided me with a wonderful opportunity to research on Sangam literature! I was particularly intrigued by the presence of complex female characters who navigated emotions like longing and defiance. Isn’t it amazing how works from centuries ago can resonate with people of today? Audiences are surely in for a treat!

Sangham literature is an experiential literature that blossoms both internally and externally. Poetry that enlivens the five senses with its aesthetic visuals and its inherent emotions. With the great desire that modern Tamils should also enjoy its flavor easily, the artistic event 'Sanga's Feelings' presented by 'Brahmastra' in Tamil language month 2024 is very important and also much needed in this period of time. I am delighted to be part of the event, as one of the artistes, who will create a sensory feast for the audience's senses.

Sangam literature remains a largely uncharted land of treasure for most of us, but its timeless poetry epitomises the language and the way of life of the ancient times beautifully like none other. To explore it with the realm of music as we dive into the senses that make us human, will be a surreal out-of-body experience that you would not want to miss.
