JOLT Digital CASE STUDY: SHARE OF SEARCH (SOS) – A new way of evaluating market share and awareness.

Les Binet, who has been doing a lot of work on Share of Search for the last 6 years finds:
- SOS corelates to market share
- As SOS goes up, Share of Market tends to go up and when SOS goes down, Share of Market falls
- SOS can also be used as a measure for brand health measuring the base level share without advertising

Our client, ESSEC Asia-Pacific, asked JOLT Digital to evaluate the impact of media and other communications activity on top of funnel measures such as awareness and salience.

The usual approach would be to run traditional market research, but this would be expensive and inefficient.
