(Malcolm) I was fortunate to catch this beauty at Songshan Airport! Due to Typhoon Ampil disrupting air traffic in Japan, JA823J returned to Tokyo Haneda a day later than scheduled, giving me the opportunity to finally see this spectacular special livery aircraft in person.

(Malcolm) First thing I caught minutes after touching down at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport was Delta’s gorgeous “Team USA” livery A330Neo, making a steep climb out near golden hour. This photo was captured while my aircraft was still taxiing to the gate from the other side of the airport. Glad glass and heat distortions did not ruin the outcome for this cool capture.

Scoot announces new route to Subang, Malaysia.
This might be the first and last time I’ll ever see this aircraft livery. It was a pleasure to capture Alliance Airlines' Embraer E190 adorned with the special “RAAF Centenary” livery. Rumor has it that it came to Singapore for maintenance and a repaint, and will depart the island city in Qantaslink’s standard livery.

If you have read the news today about Korean Airlines flight 189, here are a few things the News Outlets over-sensationalised, which I feel are misleading and adding onto everyone's fear of flying.
The aircraft, a Boeing 737 Max 8 suffered a malfunction at cruise altitude with its environmental system, specifically related to cabin pressurisation. Standard operating procedures in such cases would be to conduct a rapid descent to under 10,000ft, as at below that altitude, the human body would be able to tolerate and survive at that level with out the need of oxygen masks.
To correct the news: No the plane did not FALL, did not PLUNGE, or DROP 25,000feet. To say that is to indicate lost of control of the aircraft, as if the plane suddenly just stopped flying. It was none of the above. It was a controlled descent, that's all.
Such malfunctions have happened before, and it's not uncommon. Please do not worry.
(Malcolm) Saying goodbye to B-16703. I was fortunate to fly on “03” last year in October, along with from Taipei to Singapore. This aircraft was one of 2 EVA Air Boeing 777-300ERs to be painted in the Hello Kitty special livery. It was repainted to EVA Air’s new standard livery a few years back, leaving her sister plane “22” as the sole remaining Hello Kitty 77W. Sadly, B-16703 was retired recently, leaving EVA Air’s fleet to be scrapped.

Air Canada’s Boeing 777L rolling down the runway, rotating early on runway 02L in the early hours of the day. This was one of the rare moments where I tried shooting at a low shutterspeed and higher ISO settings. Taken 4 years ago in 2020, I came back to re-edit this using Lightroom's new denoising functions, and the results were way better than the previous attempts from that time. (Malcolm) Qantas’s “Yam Dreaming” Dreamliner is one of the most vibrant looking 787s in the skies today, and has been on my bucket list of planes to see for sometime now. I managed to catch this beauty a few times here in Singapore, with this attempt being one of the more challenging edits I had to do. The weather that day was supposed to be beautiful, with awesome golden hour light. But as the plane lined up for her final approach, a cloud cluster passed by and blocked off the ☀️ to the west, creating a backlit effect. Luckily, it was still a recoverable situation.

Scoot's new Embraer E190-E2 arrives in Singapore today!
(Malcolm & Cornelius) Hello “Explorer 3.0”, and welcome to your new home. We were delighted to participate in Scoot’s welcoming ceremony for their new Embraer E190-E2, which took place at Changi Airport’s remote stand 953R today. The arrival of the new aircraft, registered as “9V-THA” and named “Explorer 3.0”, was celebrated in Singapore with a traditional water cannon salute, alongside media presence covering the event at the remote stand. “Explorer 3.0” marks Singapore’s first registered commercially operated Embraer aircraft, with an additional 8 sister planes slated for delivery in the upcoming months. The aircraft will commence commercial operation in May, with its first inaugural flight planned for Krabi, Thailand.

(Wei Jie) NASA’s heavily modified DC-8 Airborne Science Laboratory returns to U-Tapao International Airport at sunset, after conducting its air quality survey flight over several cities in Thailand. Originally built in 1969, the aircraft was acquired by NASA in 1985 and modified to carry sensor suites, data systems and satellite communications systems. Most recently, N817NA was deployed to Asia to conduct Air Quality Research flights over several urban cities, and will be retired by NASA after its Asia-AQ deployment.
