G5 Games at Google Play | Playtime in Milan!
On the 30th of October, G5 Games Marketing Director Eva Ivanova attended one of the most prestigious events of the year — Google Play | Playtime, a closed conference in Milan, where only the largest Google partners from all over Europe, the Middle East and Africa are invited. It’s a unique platform for discussing the latest industry approaches, community development, and adoption of AI technologies, where attendees can not only exchange experiences but also share unique insights with peers and leading Google experts.
At Playtime, attendees were immersed in panel discussions, presentations, group networking, and individual sessions, discussing important topics ranging from short-form content to community building and innovation in gameplay. The day was packed with meetings with Google experts and representatives from top companies who revealed best practices for growing a business with Google Play.
Eva shares a key insight: ‘Great teams make great games. We all know it, but it’s worth a reminder: the people you create with don’t just drive success; they bring joy to the journey.’ The importance of a strong team in creating successful and joyful projects is worth remembering: the people we create with are as inspiring as the results.
And if you want to be part of the G5 team, join us — together we are creating the future of gaming!

👻 Halloween nightmares: the creepiest work fears! 🎃
In honor of Halloween, we thought we’d share some of the scariest moments we encounter at work. We asked you what in office life scares you the most and collected the darkest answers. We share this collection of nightmares and invite you to add to it!
‘The camera on a call will switch on at the wrong moment!’
‘Reading words written by AI.’
‘Add something to an email attachment in work correspondence that isn’t what should have been there. Like a picture of a cat.’
‘Internet outages.’
‘When you need to get something urgent and important from a teammate and he is on holiday.’
‘Sending partners an email with a stupid mistake that can’t be edited.’
‘Missing a minor task and only remembering it after a reminder from a team leader.’
‘Making a typo in a colleague’s name - especially in the name Yulia it’s easy to hit the neighboring letter.’
‘That a child, while you’re away from the computer, can type something on the keyboard and send it to some chat room.’
‘Very vivid, I have that with my cat.’
‘Misspell a colleague’s name, but only in voice.’
‘Lights out, it’s a real pain in the arse when there’s an important broadcast or online general.’
‘Afraid of oversleeping a call. I had to turn up for the webinar on Kazakhstan time and I have it at 4 or 5 am
‘Afraid of oversleeping the call - dailies, every day’ (when the dailies are at 7 am because of the 5-hour time difference with the team)
‘Getting the boy and girl mixed up when announcing at online events. It happened 1 time when it was unclear who it was by name and now it’s scary to get into an awkward situation.
‘Another fear of a remote worker is not recognizing colleagues in person, I’m used to avatars in Slack, and matching them with live people is not always successful’
Write in the comments what other horrors are worthy of adding to our list. 😱

GameDev Hackathon in Kazakhstan: How It Was?
🎮 Recently in Karaganda 🇰🇿, the IT hub “Terricon Valley” hosted an exciting game development hackathon.
Our team mate, Game UI/UX Designer Andrey Lapin, presented a case from G5 and served as an expert panelist. Out of 66 participating teams, 35 chose our “Casual Game Creation” case!
In just three days, participants developed concepts, drew prototypes, and brought them to life. 👾
➡️ Andrey shared his thoughts:
“The hackathon brought together both young and experienced designers and developers, with each team presenting something unique and exciting. Three days is a very short time, but the results amazed me. Choosing a winner was a real challenge. It was a true festival of creativity! I hope this is just the beginning for many young teams and G5 in Kazakhstan!”
🎁 The best project team won 500,000 tenge and exclusive gifts from G5. ✨
