Celebrating Helmut Lachenmann’s 90th birthday, this extraordinary CD presents—for the very first time—the complete solo piano works of the visionary composer gathered in a single edition. Pianist Jonas Olsson, who has worked closely with the composer, delivers a masterful and deeply informed interpretation that reveals the full breadth and intensity of Lachenmann’s radical sonic universe.

Produced by pianist Miharu Ogura, the release also includes a booklet featuring a selection of Lachenmann’s original diagrams; notes by renowned writer on contemporary classical music Paul Griffiths; and an in-depth interview in German with the composer, conducted by Olsson – this album promises to become the reference recording of Lachenmann’s piano music.

Thrilled to announce this monumental album — featuring, for the first time ever, the complete piano works of legendary composer Helmut Lachenmann, who soon turns 90!

The pieces are performed by Jonas Olsson, who has worked closely with the composer. The recording sessions were produced by Miharu Ogura and recorded at Norrlandsoperan by Johannes Oscarsson.
