It’s been a remarkable year filled with outstanding releases, celebrating Ace Records’ 50th anniversary in London and New York, acquiring an iconic music publishing catalog and launching Svenska Musikförlaget, releasing Spring Revisited with our friends at Acid Jazz and so, so much more.

Here’s to reflecting on a 2025 well spent and looking ahead to an exciting new year to come.

A distinctive piece of Ace Records history, this vintage leather-bound record chest was found nestled in a corner of the Ace HQ - a timeworn item housing a selection of handpicked soul & funk 45s curated by legendary Scottish dj and producer Keb Darge, credited with coining the term deep funk. Darge’s influence across Northern soul, deep funk, garage punk, and rockabilly has been considerable, with his curatorial work helping to shape the sound and identity of the Ace and Kent Records catalogues. This collection reflects that same ethos – discerning, soulful, and made for gittin’ up, up to the dancefloor. The chest itself carries the charm of age: leather-bound with a weathered clasp and latch, lightly rusted over time, it recalls an era when every record held its own story.

Cosmos Music has acquired all publishing rights from Ehrlingförlagen - one of Sweden’s most important and beloved music publishing catalogues, founded in 1952 by Thore Ehrling.

This marks a milestone in Swedish music history: the last major privately owned Swedish song catalog now remains under Swedish ownership.

The catalog spans over 70 years of classics by legendary names such as Jules Sylvain, Stig Olin, Lasse Dahlquist, and Karl Gerhard - songs that shaped generations of Swedish music.

Alongside the acquisition, Cosmos launches Svenska Musikförlaget, making it easier than ever to explore, listen to, and license these timeless works.
