Anders Burman (1928-2013), a legendary producer and one of the founders of the label Metronome. In 1959 Metronome purchased a space on Karlbergsvägen 57, turning the cinema Terry from a movie house to a professional recording studio, later to be called the Metronome Studio (since 1983 known as Atlantis). Anders produced countless now classic recordings with artists such as Siw Malmkvist, Anna-Lena Löfgren, Cornelis Vreeswijk and Pugh Rogefeldt. His legacy will live on as one of the greatest in the Swedish pop history.

The Altec 633A, also known as the “Salt Shaker” microphone, is a classic microphone that has been one of our favorites for adding punch, grit and attitude.
Perfect for picking up ghost notes on drums and adding character to just about anything.

The Altec 633A was first introduced in the mid-1960s. It was originally designed for use in public address (PA) systems, but it quickly found popularity in the recording studio as well.

It’s truly humbling to think about how much music history has been made in this room. The studio has hosted some of the biggest names in music, and has been the site of many iconic recordings.
It is also amazing to think that the studio is still in operation today, and that new music history is being made there every day. Atlantis Studios Stockholm is a truly unique and special place, and it is a privilege to be able to a part of its rich history.

For creating landscapes…
The Binson Echorec is a classic delay that has been used by some of the biggest names in music, including Pink Floyd, David Bowie, and Led Zeppelin. It's known for its warm, lush sound and its unique echo patterns.
The Echorec works by using a magnetic drum to record and play back the delayed signal. This gives it a very different sound from other delay pedals, which typically use digital or analog chips.

Ted Gärdestad’s self-titled album is a timeless masterpiece, recorded at Metronome Studio in Stockholm in 1973. The album features some of Gärdestad’s most iconic songs, including the title track, “Jag vill ha en egen måne,” and “Sol, vind och vatten.”

Our vintage Ampeg Portaflex is a classic bass amp has a warm, punchy sound that sit really well in a mix.
First introduced in 1960, the Portaflex was one of the first bass amps to be designed specifically for the instrument. It was also one of the first amps to be portable, thanks to its lightweight construction and compact design.
Used by some of the biggest names in music, including James Brown, Otis Redding, and Motown bassist James Jamerson.

#throwbackthursday to Cornelis Vreeswijk recording in Atlantis Metronome Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. The legendary Dutch-Swedish singer-songwriter recorded many of his best-known albums in this studio, including ”Ballader och grimascher” (1964), ”Tio vackra visor och personliga person” (1965), and ”Cornelis sjunger Taube” (1969). Vreeswijk was a master of the ballad, and his songs often dealt with dark themes such as death, poverty, and social injustice.
