Research finding suggests possible new markers for more accurate risk prediction of HFpEF in women with type II diabetes (T2D). In a study, conducted with participants from the Hoorn Diabetes Care System, and carried out by several researchers, including Etto Eringa, found that women with T2D with poor blood vessel response to insulin have a greater risk of developing HFpEF.
Using PeriIont — Perimed’s iontophoresis solution — to administer the insulin, researchers were able to assess microvascular dysfunction by comparing baseline perfusion and response with real-time data and images generated by PeriCam PSI.
If you’re attending IVBM 2024, don’t miss Eringa’s session, where he will talk about their research, or you can read more about it here: https://doi.org/10.1093/eurheartj/ehac544.787
