How about a bit of Swedish history? On this day, November 6, Sweden commemorates King Gustavus Adolphus, the only Swedish king ever to be called "the Great" (although rarely used). Widely regarded as one of the greatest military commanders in modern history, Gustavus Adolphus died in battle on this day in 1632 — 392 years ago.

How do we celebrate? With a Swedish fika, of course! There’s a special pastry named after the king, the Gustav Adolfsbakelse, typically served only on November 6. We just had some here at the office.
