Just in time for midsummer, Alba spent her last day as an intern with us.
We ate a farewell-lunch and then went back to the office for fika.

Treat Mental Illness with Virtual Reality!

Today is the last day of mental health awareness month.
In today’s society mental illness has become the rule not the exception. Because of this, new ways of treatment are required.

A common treatment for mental illnesses is CBT therapy, which focuses on acting against the patient's struggles. But what if the struggles are too hard to work against? Here’s where VR comes in. With VR the patients can expose themselves for what they fear or struggle with in a virtual world. This way patients will practice on or learning how to cope with struggles that may occur. - This is only one of many ways VR can improve mental health. Studies show that illnesses such as Alzheimer could be detected through new technology as well.

OutHere offer both AR and VR services, but what’s the difference?

AR, or Augmented Reality is mostly used to change or add something to a real world setting. For example when a customer wants to buy new furniture and before purchasing be able to see exactly how it will fit their room. - Through AR, companies are able to offer this.  

VR (Virtual Reality) on the other hand transforms the whole experience into something else. You’re able to step into a world or place, away from your current position. One of our customers uses VR in their safety training program, that way their employees can experience real life scenarios and improve accident awareness.
